At first glance, these Maison Martin Margiela Ligne 22 “Tabby” flats are…interesting? goat-hoof-like? (um, camel toe?) but do they have potential? Who can pull them off?
I mean, pretend they’re not $775 – would you buy them? I might, if they were less than $100. They’re not so appealing all by themselves, but in these outfit pictures at Totokaelo (LOVE), they’re quite nice – and I always like a little something unexpected with each of my outfits, something interesting, something that makes people look twice at an otherwise “basic” ensemble:

So tell me, would you wear these? What with?
(thanks so twitter friend @isnotfashion here’s a link to an outfit with the brown tabby flats on Style Scientist – LOVE LOVE LOVE)
i think these would go well with a drapey, yohji/comme des garcons-esque ensemble. there’s a sense of humor to these which i can appreciate – they remind me of the japanese toe socks that you wear with wooden thong sandals.

i totally agree – i love them with that second outfit (the dress)
I am not a fan personally.. I tend to like my shoes very obviously pretty.
These are very like the distinctive style created by Irregular Choice… I presume these came first?

i haven’t seen the irregular choice ones…MMM has been doing this style for quite some time though.
