Let me know how you like the video and if you’d like me to do more, they’re kind of fun 🙂
That was really fun, Grechen! Thanks for taking time out of your sunny holiday to do that. You brought up lots of things, so it’s hard to know where to start to comment. In no particular order…
I am constantly trying to find the perfect travel outfits and packing list. I always end up regretting taking something I don’t use while away or leaving something behind that I really needed. It really is trial and error. But it sounds like you’ve learned a lot on this trip that you’ll use for future travel. Thanks for sharing your tips.
I love the Virginia Johnson scarf. I got to meet Virginia at her studio in Toronto and she’s just a lovely, fun person.
Did you find it was a problem that your carry-on bag does not have a closure at the top? Were you worried about stuff falling out on the floor of the plane?
I’m surprised that you took an iPad and a Kindle. I just use the Kindle app on my iPad when I travel. Do you prefer to have the actual Kindle to read on? Is it better outdoors, for example?
There’s lots more to ask and comment on but I’ll stop there for now. Thanks again! More videos, please. You are just as down-to-earth in the video as on the blog.
Thanks for your comment! I actually loved doing the video, I just don’t have the patience for editing..
I could actually do without my ipad altogether except for magazines, I read books exclusively on the Kindle because it’s much lighter and the back light isn’t as harsh. I bring both for watching hbo go or reading magazines but on short trips I could do without my ipad.
Oh and about the bag not having a closure – it bothered me a little but not enough to really worry about it. With the snap closed the bag stayed closed and it was upright the entire time. Anyway because I’m paranoid about my bag sliding away on the plane, i always keep a foot on or near it to ‘feel’ that it’s still there!
I was thinking the same thing about the closure. I think that’s the same bag I have but in gold/navy color block (or is yours larger?). I can’t believe you fit all of that stuff in there! And I love the way you compartmentalize your things. I usually only do that with makeup and then toiletries. (2 completely separate bags…my toiletries bag alone would take up most of that BR tote!) The only trouble with packing another pair of shoes, and a couple more sweaters: Would you have been able to fit it all in the tote?
*You made me jump when you “slapped” the table at the end of the video! 😉 lol…
And thanks for the shout-out! I hope we get a chance to meet someday, you are just GREAT!
