Miss Sophie tagged me recently in her post on her 5 “daily essentials,” so here are mine:
- Comme des Garcons large wallet – you’ve seen this and heard me talk about this wallet enough, right? I don’t need to repeat myself…but I will. It’s the BEST wallet EVER. It’s unique, sturdy, holds everything, and will last forever.
- No6 x BAGGU reusable shopping bag – I’ve been addicted to BAGGU bags forever, but I quickly snagged a couple of these collaboration bags when they first came out. Each one of these bags holds $50 worth of groceries, all my sale finds at Anthropologie, and TP from Target ;). I always have 2 of the big bags & one smaller bag in my handbag for impromptu shopping trips; I haven’t brought home a plastic bag in years…
- COFFEE. I am SO addicted to coffee, and have turned it into quite the morning ritual. I have used a french press to make my coffee for decades, and I’ve had this press for probably 7-8 years (thanks to my wonderful father!)? It’s insulated so it keeps the coffee hot until I can finish the whole carafe. My dad also bought me a couple of these double-walled bodum mugs that I use everyday now. They keep the coffee hot, but don’t burn your hands. Genius!
- Amazon Kindle. I don’t know how I ever lived without this. I resisted even thinking about one for the longest time, because I love my books. I already have a HUGE library of books, and I used to derive great pleasure from spending hours at the bookstore just browsing books…but I can still do that – and just download them instantly to the Kindle instead of buying more paper. I love my Kindle and think everyone should have one…
- Finally..my iPhone. In the beginning, I didn’t love it. I liked it, and compared to my dying G1, it was lightning fast, and functional – but it’s growing on me. I love the apps & games, and the design of the phone. Mostly, I’m just happy that I have a phone that works.
Oh, and while taking these pictures, I snapped a shot of my office – ready?
Yes, that’s my dining room table.
Your turn…what are your top 5 daily essentials? Fashion-related or not…
oh yay!! you posted yours 😀 i LOVE that you included your french press and bodum mugs, haha. i have a bodum french press and teapot, and couldn’t live without them! ditto on the baggus 🙂 i meant to ask you about your iphone – my crackberry is dying and i’m trying to decide between an iphone and a Droid. how has your experience been with yours?

i like my iPhone – i really do. but i loved my android G1 phone also – it integrated better with gmail and gchat, but now i have apps on the iphone that work also. i like that i can have my music on it. i love the games….it’s a toss-up really. i’m not sure the iphone is much better than anything else out there anymore – there are the same apps for android phones now also. i switched to AT&T to get the iphone and haven’t had ANY problems at all. so far, i’ve been happy with the service, etc.
My top 5 daily essentials:
1. My Samsung Epic 4G. It’s an Android smartphone and I can’t live without it. I don’t make or receive many phones calls but it’s all about the Internet!
2. CoverGirl NatureLuxe Gloss Balm in Coral. This shade perks up my face without looking obvious and the balm is moisturizing with SPF. Perfect.
3. Flats. I might be cheating because I don’t have just one pair of flats but I’m always in a pair of flats, except for Fridays when I’m in a pair of Converse All Stars.
4. Glasses. I can’t see without them! I prefer them over contacts, usually, because I feel like I can get away with no makeup when wearing glasses. If I have contacts, I feel like I have to do my face – and I like my sleep too much for this.
5. Earbuds. I carry at least one pair of earbuds with me no matter where I go. My phone also works as a MP3 and video player and I use the earbuds when I’m listening/watching on public transportation or in the office.

amy, it’s funny you mention a couple of things – i use my phone mostly for e-mail/apps/games also, not so many phone calls…although more lately!
and with glasses, i feel like i have to do MORE eye makeup because my eyes get lost behind the frames!
and i’m gonna have to try that balm, sounds pretty.
ok – this is really helpful! i have some friends who like the droid better for texting/email and whatnot. i’ll have to go and see them in person then. but the design dork in me keeps cheering on for the sleek iphone 😛

First and foremost I must have coffee and I’m a bit of a coffee snob so it has to be really dark roast, ground fresh and I’m currently hooked on a creamer that is Peppermint Mocha! Secondly I must have my Kindle with me at all times as well. Got it for Christmas, a cute leather with light cover for my Birthday. Never know when I can sneak in a chapter! Third would have to be lipbalm, I feel naked if my lips don’t have lipbalm or my new favorite lipstick from TopShop in Mink. Vitamin and Supplements pack which I take after breakfast (eaten at my desk at the office) comes in Fourth. Fifth would have to be my computer at home where I end up each night working on my site, looking at the plethora of Fashion Blogs I follow and the never ending stream of emails daily.
I know this isn’t in this comment section but I do love your new glasses, you look really cute in them even if they are too wide as you put it.
i could add a million things to my must-have list – also lip balm, and my UGG boots (ONLY FOR INSIDE THOUGH!!!)
and i’m with you on the coffee. the darker/deeper, the better. ummm…makes me want some right now!!!
the iphone is cool. love the design. it just comes down to what functionality you really need. i didn’t really lose any functionality, it’s just more “seamless” to do gmail/gchat on an android phone than the iphone. i still do it with apps, but it’s not the same. i am willing to sac. that for the iPhone 😉
My 5 things I can’t live without is my mac, shoes, iphone, oat flakes and chocolate 🙂
