LOVE this Mirabelle pullover by Steven Alan – it’s a bit Isabel Marant-ish without the super-premium price tag. And it seems to be more of a sweater than a tee-shirt.

Hey Grechen! I was wondering if you could help me figure out the sizing at Steven Alan. I guess I just naturally assume that a lot of the “hipster” stores end their sizes at 8 or 10, which I thought Steven Alan did. Do you know how their items fit? Could a L or 12-14 fit in their clothes???
i tried on a SA dress earlier this year – when i was closer to a 14 – and it did NOT fit me. and i guess it was a large? i don’t remember the sizing. i haven’t tried anything else on, and honestly, that’s why i haven’t bought anything, because i’m nervous about the fit – i just assume that nothing will fit. sharon & sydney have lots of SA, i’ll ask them to chime in over here 😉
Thanks Grechen, that’s kind of what I thought. Darn! And some of the things are SO cute!! (and they have a store in East Hampton!!!)
I’ve found Steven Alan to run comparably to stores like Jcrew. I just got a dress from SA in a small and I wear an XS, 2-4 in Jcrew in dresses. Tops I usually get a P or S from SA and a 2 or 4 from Jcrew. I feel like their tops are usually cut pretty generously (button downs and blouses), unsure about knits. HTH a little!

honestly, if you’re not as hip-y as me, you could probably fit into his stuff – my problem is my hips/thighs for skirts/dresses/pants
My dress is a M, which is what I typically what I wear in most brands.
I’m not very hip-y, but I’ve got shoulders like a linebacker for the Green Bay Packers! So I have trouble with fit. (I know, buy a bigger size and have it tailored—but first you have to find a great tailor!!)
