The new swing trench by Everlane is launching next week…what do you think? I have no idea how much it will cost – maybe $120? less? Of course, I’ll probably order one, as I’m quite intrigued by the shape. And I love the color. Based on my track record with Everlane recently though, I’ll probably get a small, although I’ll be worried about how it will fit my upper arms/shoulders. But it’s very easy to return, so no big deal.
Will you order one? What do you think about the shape/color/style?
I was intrigued by the sneak peek, but I don’t think I’ll order one. I’m looking for a double-breasted trench with a removable hood that’s waterproof, plus more A-line swingy, and longer. (I have a long torso.) So, sadly, I think I’ll take a pass. It seems as if Everlane stuff is designed for the SoCal lifestyle that isn’t mine here in Canada. (That is, a trench that isn’t waterproof with a hood.)

this looks great… i’ve been wondering about everlane… have you tried it yet? i’m curious to see if it’s actually good. if so, then yeah, i’d totally add one of those trenches to my collection of trenches.
jennine, i have every single piece everlane has ever made. no joke. well, not EVERY piece, but one of every style 😉 almost…
i like it generally, but most everything runs big i’ve found.
the quality is very good, and their customer service is fantastic.
I’ve been eyeing this too! Love the style. I’m with Laurel in terms of being uncertain of the length (long torso here too) and also wish it was more functional (at least water repellant). That being said, I’m tempted as I know the price will be reasonable. I haven’t had the same luck with Everlane. I have a few v-neck tees that are good basics, but nothing amazing to me. I ordered a cashmere cardigan last year that ended up being really disappointed in. It just hasn’t worn well and looks pretty ratty despite my taking care of it. The silk blouses are nice, but silk isn’t so practical for me. Guess we’ll see! Can’t wait for your review. 🙂
I like the style and color and I bet it would look cute with skinny jeans and flats. Gretchen, do you have one of their totes or backpacks?
i did order a backpack and sent it back. it was great, but i just couldn’t do it…a backpack that is! i loved that it had a padded spot for my laptop…i also had a tote and sent it back too, i felt like it was a bit small for me, and the leather straps seemed a bit like they’d rub color off if i was wearing a white shirt. but i’ve never heard of that happening to anyone else.
they’re great about listening to customer feedback and with returns though, so if you’re on the fence, order anyway, it’s easy to return.
yes, you’re right, not very practical for actual “bad weather” LOL
but i think it will suit me just fine 🙂
