I originally created this list in 2006 and added to it until 2008, so needless to say, it’s a bit outdated, although most of the links still work! At issue though, is whether there are still any TRULY indie designer boutiques out there. Over the last several years, more and more used-to-be-indie designers have been picked up by larger online boutiques (like Shopbop & Revolve Clothing) and are now sold alongside more established brands. That said, I’d like to update this list and make it truly reflective of online boutiques that stock VERY small, relatively unknown, but interesting designers.
