It’s inevitable – just when you think you might finally have enough bags, another one comes around to tempt you. Of course, I’m now of the opinion that you can never have too many bags as long as you love each one you own and they’re all unique. So, when Andrea Posse contacted me to review her new line of bags, I JUMPED at the chance, not only because I think her bags are beautiful, but because I love to support fellow entrepreneurs as much as possible.
I received the Carolina Bag from her Spring/Summer collection earlier this week and I’ve carried it every day since then. The color is Olive, and similar, but different, to the Steel color of my Botkier Trigger. I love it, and find it very versatile. It goes well with black, brown, and everything in between – although I wouldn’t wear it with a camo green (like my Mike & Chris trench hoodie for example).
One negative for me is that it doesn’t have any outside pockets, but I’ve been able to manage fine by putting my keys and phone in the zipper pocket inside. Everything else is overwhelmingly positive. The leather is shrunken lamb – which I’ve never had any experience with – but is incredibly soft and supple. It also has a bit of texture and ‘shine’ to it, which I’m sure is indicative of the lamb leather, but it gives it a great deal of character; always good in my opinion!
Although I’ve been using it as a handbag/everyday bag, I think it would work even better as an overnight or travel bag. It is the perfect size/shape for a carryon and holds EVERYTHING. As you know, I usually carry a book or two with me, in addition to a large wallet, makeup bag, iPod, phone, and random other things. This week, I’ve added a pashmina, gloves and a hat becuase the weather has been so nasty, and the bag holds it all extremely well. It’s very unstructured, but keeps it’s basic shape, so the more you stuff it, the better it looks!
I love it, and the rest of the new collection from Posse – the shapes are unique, the leather fabulous, and the colors fresh and new for the season.
Happy Shopping Ladies!
About Posse:
Andrea Posse, founder of Posse, has always had a deep infatuation with accessories. Her passion for the fashion industry began as a young child when she spent her summers in Bogota, Colombia, where her aunt, designer Pilar Soentendal, ran a well-known specialty boutique called Sutendals. Her aunt was known for designing and dressing the city’s social elite.
Andrea adopted her aunt’s passion for designing and manufacturing, and began her own career as a handbag designer by creating one-of-a-kind pieces in 2003 under the name Andrea P. She later created her signature collection under Posse, which debuted in late August 2006.
Drawing inspiration from the various places she has lived – including Italy, France, Miami, and currently New York City – and using exotic fabrics and leather (python, lambskin, pony and croc, among others), Posse handbags are both deliciously dangerous and cleverly coquettish at once.
Posse handbags effortlessly distinguish any outfit and are not only beautiful but multi-functional as well.
