**update: I sent both dresses back. I didn’t feel like either one was worth the money for me, the dress on the right I considered keeping, but I wasn’t sure I would get my money’s worth out of it. The dress on the left I liked, but I hated that it was dry clean…so, back they went! Maybe I’ll pick the shorter dress up if it goes on sale for say, 40% off 🙂
Dress on the left: “luxe-knit” long dress
Dress on the right: Fleece hooded a-line dress
I’m actually not going to review these yet, because I want to hear your opinions first. I’m open to anything, I’m open to sending one or both of them back, whatever. I want your opinions. please. Do either of them suit me?
Once you guys tell me what you think, I’ll tell you what I think. Deal? LOL I just want your honest opinion on both dresses – not that you wouldn’t give that to me anyway, I just don’t want what you say to be influenced by how I feel about the dresses.
Thanks!!
hmm… you know i like them, they’re great dresses, but i’d like to see the neckline of the grey dress on the back dress… does that make sense? the neckline flatters your top, but the other dress is generally more flattering for your body.
but yeah, thumbs up! love to see how you’d style them!
.-= jennine´s last blog ..Fall Uniform : Jacket & Jeggings… try saying that 5 times =-.
To be honest, I LOVE the neckline of the “luxe-knit” long dress better, but I like the shape of the Fleece hooded a-line dress is more flattering. Yeah, I know I no help.
LOL, i think both you and rachel posted at the same time! i TOTALLY agree with that assessment – and on the shopbop model, the 2nd dress looked like the neckline was more open, like a boatneck style, so I assumed it would not be so closed up.
i’m not sure what i’m going to do with these dresses…i think i like them, and maybe if i styled them, or put some more effort into an outfit or something, they’d look better. but i’m on the fence.
I would cast my vote for the open neck dress on the left, James Perse knows how much skin to show around the neck and I love how it looks on you. For the knee length dress you might want to see how it looks when you have your hair up, since the neckline is not visible when you have your hair down. Maybe pair it with heels? It looks more basic, and you might feel differently about it if you throw the splendid drape cardi over that one (that is one cardi that changes everything!). my two cents.
great point about wearing my hair up….you see, that’s why i asked for help!! you guys are perfect. i’m going to work on some more looks, i’d really like to see if i can make these dresses work!
Grechen, the “Luxe Long Dress” is a very sexy look on you;it exposes your neckline/collarbone, which is always flattering and I like it with the sleeves pushed up (more skin=sexier) AND the length gives you a nice, long line. The dress on the right is just OK, nothing special. I’d vote to send that one back.
James Perse dress gives you an hour glass figure 🙂
I’m drawn to the gray dress. I love the open neckline & it shows off
your curves nicely.
