Here’s the “final” installment of my look at sustainable/organic cotton white t-shirt alternatives, today featuring another tee by Alternative Apparel. As you can probably tell, this t-shirt is much less fitted than the v-neck by Groceries, and has dropped shoulders; I like it very much.
After trying out all these t-shirts, I feel safe saying that I DO think organic cotton is softer than conventional. I have also found that my Zady organic cotton tee seems to get softer with each wear/wash, and has quickly become a favorite tee. It’s also a bit of a heavier weight than others I have, which I like for many situations. The Alternative tees seem to be a bit thinner, so that they can drape better/be more slouchy though, so FYI.
I hope this has helped give a broader look at some white t-shirt brands that are more sustainable than conventional ones. If there are any other brands/t-shirts you suggest I try and review, please let me know! I’d love to hear your favorites.

Thanks for the reviews–all the tees look great on you! I discovered a good one this week, at Whole Foods of all places. It’s the Tempest Tee by Threads for Thought. Oddly it was $28 at WF and is $45 on their website. It’s an eco poly/rayon blend with great drape. It has a flattering v in the front and back. True to size, but I sized up for length and more slouch. Haven’t washed yet, but it’s held up to wearing nicely! 🙂
Left a message the other day and for some reason the web address didn’t copy so there was no context for what I was saying! Will try again! You might be interested in exploring “UNIFORM”; another start up with a good concept to do some good in this world and sell a t-shirt.
