If you haven’t been to a Renegade Craft Fair yet, you really must next time it’s in town. I spent part of the day yesterday at Renegade here in Austin with a few wonderful friends and had an amazing time. Austin is an inspiring city anyway, but add to that all the talented ladies (and men) displaying their creations this weekend, and whoa – it was a little overwhelming!!
Since I snagged a pair of gorgeous vintage YSL sunnies on Saturday from Market Publique, I had to go to Renegade with a smaller budget than I had planned. I’m happy with what I was able to purchase, but believe me, if I’d been able to spend more money, I would have. One thing I didn’t get that I will order soon is this handmade ceramic “Bird Nerd” mug (so appropriate as I sit here outside watching the birds at my feeders..)
And I collected tons of business cards and info from other great designers like leighelena (I actually tried on some of her bracelets at Eliza Page recently – they are GORGEOUS. And so is Leigh 🙂 It was wonderful to meet her!):
I also fell in love with this piece from another local designer Jules Marie – the heart/cupid’s bow is actually the clasp!! So cool.
And finally…here’s what I bought…
I knew going in that I wanted to buy this necklace by Early Jewelry because Janette has it and every time she wears it, I admire it on her (and desire one of my own). But I ended up getting these earrings instead – they’re stunning on, and I couldn’t pass them up! (check out some more info on Early Jewelry and a video at Fashion Loves People)
I also got this teeny tiny heart ring in brass by Verameat, a designer I was already familiar with. I bought it as a pinky ring, but I guess my fingers were a little swollen when I got it, because it’s not a pinky ring anymore!! It’s still lovely though. Janette thinks so too 🙂
I also met Andrea from Bottle up & Explode, Renee from Roboroku, and Natalie from Ornamental Things – all locals!!
What a busy day 🙂
Have you been to a Renegade Craft Fair?
