What do you want to see here? What are your favorite parts of reading Grechen’s Closet? Do you care about real-life outfit posts? Would you rather see more shopping posts? Long-form articles?
I like posting outfits because I find getting dressed fascinating. Clothing, and how we wear it, is something I’ll never get tired of thinking, or writing about. Obviously LOL. And outfit posts are a diary for me – a look at my day that gives deeper insight into who I am.
But maybe they’re boring? Or not relevant anymore?
I am trying to schedule more time to write, like I did when I was doing the minimal closet series. I so enjoyed writing longer thought pieces, but more than that, I thrived on the conversations we had around them. I haven’t really felt like I had the time for “writing” since starting slowre, though, and I miss it.
Just reflecting a little bit this Monday. Perhaps because it’s my birthday on Thursday? As I get older, I find myself taking “stock” more often; checking in with myself frequently, making sure I’m doing what I want to be doing. And that I am reaching people – having a small impact.
I’d love to hear your thoughts if you care to share them. Is there anything you’d like me to write about? Questions for me?
I like the outfit posts! And I’m too lazy to sign up for Instagram – I can’t handle any more social media 🙂 I do like the longer writing but know that takes a ton of time.
I definitely come for the outfit posts! Your style is great and inspirational for me with your DGAF confidence. It’s really helped me narrow my own style and be true to what I like. Plus I learn about great things I never would have found to buy/consider/save up for.
If you’re looking for any other kind of feature to do, I do love your recommendations for a specific type of item, that we often get when you’re in the market for something in particular. I know it could be hard to motivate yourself to do it for something you personally are not looking for (ugh, you’re not our collective personal shopper!) but if you had a round-up of boots/sneaks/jeans/whatever at different price points for the season (with your unique take and ethical edit) I would be all over it.
But really just keep doing what you’re doing! I come here all the time, though don’t normally comment 🙂
Hi Gretchen! I enjoy your longer form posts, the posts where you ask your readers to share (list of 5 or other topics – I find the other comments helpful and interesting), your product reviews and your OOTD. I don’t find the shopping posts as interesting but at one point in my life I would have enjoyed those. I’m just not there right now and try not to let “sale!” drive my buying (it’s a personal thing, I used to overshop at sales). That said, if you share a coupon code at the right timing for me, it is always appreciated.
I rarely read many blogs that do a lot of OOTD but I enjoy yours as it helps me quite a bit when I am considering buying a certain line. I feel like you are honest and that is also helpful. Although you and I are quite different, we certainly gravitate to some of the same lines and also toward well made neutrals.
I love your longer posts, whether about clothes or real life. And I always get inspired by your outfit posts! I just love ALL THE THINGS on your blog! Probably because I love and miss you 🙂
Ditto! Thanks for saving me a few minutes of typing, you basically captured all my thoughts. I really love the honest, detailed reviews. I have certainly bought something I saw on a blog before only to return it wondering how on earth it was comfortable to the person reviewing it. My only guess is that in some cases the appeal of an object outweighs its discomfort, but I need both! I appreciate that you address comfort, quality, etc.
I enjoy the longer articles as well, and would love to see what you have to say in that format. But on a day-to-day basis I enjoy just popping in and seeing what is going on, so no pressure!
I love your outfit posts. It’s also very helpful when you model clothes from Slowre. Longer thought pieces are great when you have the time. I too like the posts in which you ask readers a series of questions–always fun and interesting.
I LOVE the outfit posts! I often mentally catalogue the OOTD looks I like best, and use them for creative fodder when looking into the folds of my closet. You’ve got great style.
I love the outfit posts (especially when you’re wearing something I own as well)! I also like the longer format, food-for-thought posts as well. And the general lifestyle, health & fitness, reading/watching/listening to type posts. Things that I can add to my library list and Netflix queue!
I like the variety – so anything goes for me. But I like the OOTD as an approachable source of clothing ideas.
I enjoy the OOTD posts as well as the longer/deeper topics. I appreciate the honesty of the reviews. It is nice to know I am not the only one who overthinks/stresses about my clothes! BTW, I really love the silhouette of this outfit.
Outfit posts!! I love them, and they are the reason I follow your blog and look forward to it every single weekday. I can’t get enough of seeing the outfits you put together and why. You’ve been a tremendous influence on me and my buying habits, and I just really love your style. So please keep them coming and thank you!! Have a beautiful rest of the week. xoxo
I love your OOTD posts! I enjoy your longer pieces as well, but please don’t stop posting your outfits… they’re definitely still relevant 🙂
I found you by searching for minimal style and I love your outfit posts. I also love the longer form posts. You should write about what interests you, and I think there’s a great mix of that already.
Late on this but love the outfit posts, and the long form pieces. Trying hard to shop less so different ways of combining pieces is helpful.L
Hi, Grechen! I love all your content. I don’t check in everyday, but probably weekly. I like to catch up on your posts and see what’s going on at Slowre. Please keep posting your OOTD. I think you fill a niche for the over 40 group that is much needed. In contrast, there are so many under 40’s posting OOTD on different social media platform. I’ve learned so much from your blog about finding my style, shopping for quality pieces, sustainable shopping, being comfortable with your style, etc. I also love when you write the more personal pieces. What can I say – just keep doing you, Grechen.
Also, Happy Belated Birthday!
