Rag & Bone came out with these trompe l’oeil denim-on-sweatpants in 2014 (of course I posted about them then and most of you HATED THEM!!!) but I think it was just that they were WAY ahead of their time; if ever there was a time for sweatpants that look like jeans, it’s 2020. Am I right??
Since I can’t find any jeans that fit me/that I like on me (I HAVE TRIED. BELIEVE ME), and I really love jeans, I had to try these, so I snapped them up in a large as soon as I saw them on Shopbop. And they’re wonderful 🙂
They really do look like jeans, especially from far away, but are a lightweight sweatpant. Too light, honestly, for winter, but with my overheating lately, I think they’ll be fine. I wonder how the print will hold up? And they feel a little “synthetic” if that makes sense (because of the print/ink I guess), even though they’re 100% cotton.
They’re comfortable though, and fulfill my need/desire for jeans, mostly, so win-win.
In other news, Hawk might be moving to a one-nap-a-day schedule and we’re trying it out today. Wish us luck haha…

Read the comments back in 2014, and not sure what the controversy was? I definitely had pants in that style and at that time, although not pretend-denim sweats, more’s the pity. Although no, I would not have paid that price at that time and not now either. In either case, they look great on you, and apparently they are super comfy, so perfect choice G!

You are so right about them being ahead of their time – which, of course means that you’re the fashion seer! And cardigans – everyone is pushing the cardis. Associated with memories of Grandpa to comfort us in our sadness?

I got these in 2014 and still love them! Mine are a lighter, more ‘destroyed’ color, but they have held up great. Granted, I went a little while not wearing them mostly because I had gained some weight and they didn’t fit like I wanted them to, but the color seems pretty durable. It’s crazy how realistic they look!
