Rag & Bone Harrow Booties
I wasn’t going to post an outfit today because it’s Thursday (I try not to post outfits every day…unless you guys want me to start doing that?), and I was just going to mention a few beauty/makeup products I’m loving right now. But I was playing around in my closet – I do that a lot – after yesterday’s post about my ankle booties and wanted to try them on with my Lovestory flared jeans and see if I liked the outfit any better, or the jeans better with the boots as opposed to clogs. I’m not sure I do. What do you think?
I did wear the boots last night to an event at Madewell and happy hour with a friend, so quite a bit of walking was involved – and I survived. I can’t say I wasn’t ready to get them off my feet afterwards, but they weren’t terrible to walk in and my feet didn’t hurt. It was just weird, you know? Especially given that I don’t wear heels. Ever. But I definitely see that I can wear these on occasion without wanting to cut my feet off.
So…I’m getting comfortable with wearing ankle boots more often, but I definitely don’t need another pair right now. Although after yesterday’s post and all of your comments about YOUR favorite ankle booties, I’m tempted!! I think I’ll put together a post tomorrow with some of your favorites, do you have any to add that you didn’t mention yesterday?
(oh, and what a difference a day makes!! last night it was 80 degrees, right now, about 38. The weather here is crazy.)
I love the ankle boots with flare jeans. I wear this combination a lot with my Frye Melissa short boots. They are a flat heel and as comfortable as sneakers.
Love your look ! Have been so obsessed with perfecting the ankle boot look that I forgot about my beloved Frye boots freezing in the trunk of my car since my last cold shoot. Oh how I have missed them, funny they have been around the world with me the past 15 years or so and now I know why. They are simply the best. Falling in love all over again and the weather is perfect for their tough look today!
Now getting back to ankle boots…Madewell makes a Dicker knockoff, I think it is called zip code? Saw a woman in Creatures of Comfort wearing them and thought they were the real thing. Tempting…
Someone yesterday mentioned the Acne Pistol. I have those on my wish list (along with a bazillion other things!) And I would add Bed-Stu “Sonic” for a rustic look with a chunky sweater and skinny jeans. I’m not sure that
“without wanting to cut my feet off” is exactly a glowing review. But you did it! You tried something new. And I actually love yesterdays look on you better than today’s. I think there was something elongating about the look (I know it’s supposed to be TODAY’s look, in theory, but I loved the R&B’s!).
1. Yes to the ankle boots and Lovestory. So glad you tried that combo!
2. Would love more outfit posts–but only if you have the time and inclination. I have so many saved in my “lookbook” folder. (Autocorrect just changed that to “cookbook”!)
3. Remember a while ago when you said you weren’t sure if jeans were your thing? Forget about it. You’ve just shown two awesome looks in a row. You just need to find a style that works and I think you’ve done it.
I think you have another great ankle boots outfit! I’m inspired – I have short legs too, and think its hard to pull off ankle boots without stumpiifying my legs. I would love to see you post more outfits. You have a casual yet chic, minimalist look that I like.
thank you dee! i will definitely try to post more outfits & outfits with ankle boots 🙂
