Oh my gosh. Once again, I didn’t mean to leave off posting for so many days (I drafted quite a few posts last week), but you know, life gets in the way. I am 37.5 weeks now and am having a sonogram and cervix check today at my appointment.
Everything is going well, and I’m feeling really good generally. Just very pregnant.
Some random updates:
Although I don’t really see that my ankles/feet are swollen, my calves/ankles sort of “hurt,” especially if I am on my feet a lot during the day. And my hips feel wider and stretched out so it’s harder to walk a lot or stand a lot.
Acid reflux is really uncomfortable.
I finally feel “ready” to have this baby, physically, emotionally, etc. and am as prepared as I can be. (knowing that preparation only goes so far…) We certainly have everything we need and probably things that we don’t. Maybe we’re missing a few things I think I might need later on? But there is always something to buy…stores aren’t going anywhere in the next few weeks.
Stranger Things season 3 was a waste of time. So was season 2. I should have known better. I miss Poldark LOL.
Seems like everyone I’ve been pregnant with on Instagram (no, I can’t believe I just said that either) is having their babies already, which is exciting, and fun to see, but also very REAL. Did I just say I finally feel ready?? haha.
All of our company is gone, so we have the house to ourselves again for a little while. My mom really helped me do baby laundry and get somewhat organized, and I am so thankful for that. I moved most of my things out of our low dresser so we can put the changing pad on there and use that dresser in our room for baby stuff. He’s going to be in our room until he needs a proper crib because his room will be upstairs eventually and I can’t even think about trying to go up and down stairs every couple of hours to feed, etc.
And what can I say, I’ll be sad to lose my office so I’m postponing that inevitability for as long as possible.
Ah…changes.
Hope all is well with everyone!! Let me know what’s going on with you in comments. Are you enjoying summer vacations? (jealous) or just relaxing at home?
Hi Grechen, longtime lurker here just wanting to wish you the very best. Thank you for sharing your journey with us! You look wonderful and that little boy is very lucky to have you as a mom. I was due Aug 4 2017, so I know just how tough the end weeks of pregnancy in the summer are. Best wishes from a stranger in Canada.
It’s ridiculous, how excited I’m getting over little baby boy’s pending arrival! It seems like just yesterday that you told us you were pregnant, and now, he’s almost here. Yes, life changes and offices get moved (or lost…) but I can honestly say, my kids are the best thing I ever put out there in the world. I’m so happy for you guys! Life….what a ride!
You’re looking so radiantly beautiful! And it’s very nice to hear that you are feeling ready now —
amazing, isn’t it, how the 39 weeks works as a gestational period for the mother, too? Mazel tov on all the beautiful changes ahead. Wishing you a relaxing rest of your pregnancy and an easy delivery!
