Random thoughts:
I’m wearing the Rag & Bone jeans again mostly because they’re the only pair of pants I have that go all the way down to my ankles. And it’s quite cold out today. Hopefully I’m making up for the holes in my jeans with the long cashmere cardigan LOL – at least that’s what I’m hoping!
I’ve realized that I do like to have a slim pant/jean in my wardrobe, but I’m not necessarily willing to invest in a pair right now. I sold my ES cecilia pants and then, of course, went on a search for a pair to replace them, but decided to live with these jeans as my “slim pants” for a while. They’re a lower rise and a little big at the waist, so I have to tug them up whenever I get up from sitting, but they’re not THAT uncomfortable, and I’d rather make do with these until next fall/winter than get a new pair of pants now. Sounds pretty smart and adult-like to me haha. Who am I right now??
Remember Virginia Johnson? This scarf is a decade old I think, and I haven’t worn it in years. I carry it when I travel sometimes as a blanket/scarf, but other than that, I don’t wear scarves much at home anymore. And it’s just SO BIG and bulky, I’ve been wishing for a smaller, more narrow scarf lately (I lost my Chan luu scarf somehow), but am not willing to invest in one while I have this one that’s perfectly good. Anyway, Erica from A History of Architecture posted on Instagram with her camel scarf, which was always the one that got away for me (by the time I was able to buy one the camels were sold out and I got “pebbles” instead), and Virginia herself left a comment that she may bring it back eventually. THAT would be hard for me to resist, even though I’ve just said I’m over such large scarves. Ha. Back to not so smart LOL
And lest we forget that I have hips. I’ve been wearing such oversized or not-fitted pieces lately that it’s hard to tell there’s a body under there. But there is. And it is HIPPY!! I wore this dress on Friday when it was warmer here for a second (this is the dress I can only wear under very narrow circumstances – not hot, not cold) and was pleased to bare my legs comfortably and show my body a little bit.
I’ve been working like crazy to get all the consignment items for slowre I have in my posession up this week and next to focus on ones that are incoming. I’m going to the Atlanta-area on Saturday to visit my mother for her birthday and then coming back on Tuesday with my sister and niece who will be spending the week here, so I’m trying to get as much done now so we can have fun next week. Anyway, I’m getting roughly 20 new items up tomorrow and 20 next week, and I’ll be taking a lot of outfit shots with some things that are in stock and/or on sale right now.
How is your week going?
Love both of these outfits! And you don’t appear hippy to me at all.
Thanks for shipping the jeans so quickly (as always). I’m looking forward to trying them, crossing my fingers…
oh, sure! i hope you love them, i really did đ
I love that dress.
I was wearing a horizontal striped body-con dress around the house last night and I caught a glimpse of myself in one of the windows and was all “whoa hips and booty!”. Like you, I’ve been wearing a lot of oversized/loose pieces (cos it’s been so damned hot here) so it was a bit of a WTF moment.
My week feels like it’s going so slowly. I’m supposed to be writing papers but I’ve been lacking sleep and I just can’t focus. I love summer but I can’t wait for autumn (and the more settled weather).
The camel scarf is also âone that got awayâ for me! Iâve had an EBay saved search going for YEARS.
Those James Perse dresses are MADE to showcase your little waist, and curvy hips!! Just fabulous. Also, LOVE your new hair which IMHO goes so nicely with dark clothes.
We have had such a long cold snap in the Beautiful Black Hills of SD that I am sick of wearing my warm boots with every single outfit and having to pass up on the more fashionable footwear that Iâd rather be wearing.
I am off to Chicago this afternoon for a 3 day/night business meeting, and Iâm so proud of myself that I am managing with a carryon bag !! I will really miss my Dyson hair dryer (I am a daily shampoo gal), but there was no way to fit that in my carryon, unless I wanted to wear the SAME shoes for 4 days….
I have been looking for a pair of jeans with a relaxed fit, and a high enough rise that I wouldnât be constantly pulling them up…no where to be found. I finally gave up the hunt and ordered a pair of ES Cecilia pants. I ordered my regular pant size, and hope they wonât be too fitted and legging like. I love my Clyde Culottes, but sometimes I want something more fitted.
I love wearing all black or black & gray. Occasionally black & white. So I think you look great!
I’m longing for it to be warm enough to wear a dress without tights (black, of course)!
I love both of these outfits. Especially that youâve pulled out your Virginia johnson scarf again! I bought one, and then she quit doing scarves to concentrate on art or something. So I feel like weâve got âcollectors itemsâ! I would seriously cry if I lost my Chan Luu scarf! And I had to laugh when you said you wouldnât âinvest in one when [you] have this one thatâs perfectly goodâ…itâs about collecting for me. If one scarf is good, 15 have got to be better, right? đ
Not doing much of anything, really. No visits planned. Still trying to find a knitting group to join and I think Iâve found a book club. Going out with my hubby, but not on Valentineâs Day. Too crazy. I like quiet.
I was going to say the same thing, Tania…What hips? After that liquid diet? No way!
I like the gray sneakers with slim black jeans. And I love the black Everlane boyfriend jeans I just got from Slowre – thanks for the quick shipping! I love that the denim is hefty and crunchy… they feel substantial, unlike flimsy, delicate, never-wash-or-dry Madewell black jeans I have. But they’re slim and really black, too.
