No, that’s not what I wore to work in the yard. It’s what I wore when I left the yard to go to Costco. (where I bought the big pot I planted the herbs in for $17). And there you have my weekend.
We are renting, so there’s not a whole lot I can REALLY do with the yard, but it’s such a disaster that I’ve had to do a lot to make it enjoyable. Mostly pulling weeds and removing dead bushes/trees, and trying to grow grass. Well, Leo is trying to grow grass, I do plants and flowers and weeds and he does grass LOL.
I think the owners have never lived here, and honestly didn’t put much thought into the landscaping. It certainly hasn’t been maintained at all; things just grow wild back here. There are a few rose bushes, a couple of crepe myrtle trees, a pecan tree, a mulberry tree, and a rose of sharon, but interspersed between all of those things are vines and weeds that are out of control. So I spend the weekends trying to clean up what I can. So, really, I don’t expect anyone to appreciate these “after” photos, but I had such a sense of accomplishment this weekend LOL. Yardwork is SO hard, but very satisfying!!
I also planted a few herbs in a pot finally, so we’ll see how they do. I had hopes to do a raised bed with herbs, but it’s a little late to start that now, so I settled on a big pot. I can’t EVEN begin to dig in the dirt here, it’s too rocky for me to get through, so I’m not planting anything in the ground.
Anyway, that was my weekend. How was yours??
Went to West Coast Craft Fair this weekend …. and… so a word about Ozma: I feel like I avoid Ozma because they’re too pricey for me, their raw silk isn’t ES quality, etc. etc. and yet… I found a sample sale raw silk boilersuit for $100 in size M and just HAD to scoop it up (without even trying it on! V. gutsy of me. But it’s $300 full price, so I mean, C’MON). And it’s amazing; so amazing in fact that I wore it the whole rest of the day after getting home. I also picked up a pair of Only Child Dune pants in black linen (I love the flat panel in front), and a cotton gauze dress from Sugar Candy Mountain (I think Esme is the name?) and it’s the perfect addition to my summer wardrobe so I’m not wearing my CP shades dress all summer… so lots of shopping, and all in black, but all excellent finds!
so jealous!!! every time WCC comes around i think i’d like to make a trip out there for that, and then take a reality check LOL
whoa, yeah, very gutsy, but glad it worked out! i love my ozma raw silk jumper but definitely don’t think it’s worth the full price. i do think ES had better raw silk…
HA! Yes I just happened to be in SF this weekend so it worked out. I got overwhelmed after about an hour with the sheer number of people but there are definitely a lot of great designers! I agree about the Ozma not being worth full-price, and I am also ES raw silk 100%. Especially now that I’ve gotten two jumpsuits from Ozma’s sample sale section (one was $80, this one $100) it’s hard to justify paying any more than that .
What a great idea…..I would love a craft fair or market that sold vintage! I can get basics at my local retail shops, but not indie designers. I would love that.
Sorry, auto correct screwed me. I meant re-sale, not retail!!!!!!!!
