what I didn’t wear: Darylk dress (VERY old – recently fixed) | J Crew belt | Dannijo necklace | LD Tuttle Shoes | 3.1 Philip Lim bag
I was wearing this today, but decided to change; I felt too “dressed up” for doing basically nothing today. Anyway, I always feel overdressed for Austin – de rigueur here for most women for outings of any kind are nike shorts & workout tanks. Not that I mind feeling overdressed particularly, I do like to stand out, but it gets tiring after a while. Only when I’m out with friends or fellow-bloggers do I feel “normal,” or even UNDERdressed when I’m with Sydney đ I love to see nicely dressed & styled women; all the super-casual & workout-wear EVERYWHERE is starting to wear on me.
I also didn’t feel comfortable in a short dress today (insecurity rearing it’s ugly head) so I changed into this:
what I wore: Splendid skirt | Splendid top | Dannijo necklace | LD Tuttle shoes | Jas M.B. bag
I’m more comfortable. And I wanted to pull out my Jas M.B. bag again; I forgot how lightweight it is, and how easy to carry. I also love this Splendid top, and don’t wear it often enough.
Do you often feel overdressed in your community?
You crack me up! You look fabulous, as always and I LOVE the first outfit. You can rarely be too dressed up! It was wonderful to see you and I hope we can have lunch when I get back. Pretty please?
I’m with Sydney! I think you look fab in the first outfit. I was going to comment on how great it looks on you (you know how envious I am of your waist!) and how tiny your feet look in those shoes, then I saw the “I don’t feel comfortable in this” comment, and I didn’t want you to feel guilty for looking so great. Alas…So pretend I didn’t just comment. I love the outfit below, too. In the heat, I’d go for shorter! (and I guess I feel like I dress about right for our community most of the time–Now we’re in a beach community, so everyone is on vacation in shorts and rash guards! In Rochester, home of Mayo Clinic, everyone was in business attire and that was NOT me!!)
Um, of course we can have lunch when you get back. And I kNEW you would like the first outfit best!!!
Now that I’m getting OK with my upper arms and my hips I have to be insecure about something, right?? Now it’s the back of my legs…which is crazy I know…especially in this heat.
I get it–I’m the same way about the back of my arms. I have eczema and so when I get a flare-up (which happens OFTEN in hot, steamy weather), I itch, it gets gross looking…you get the picture. But when it’s hot, I’ll often just say, “To heck with it, I’m wearing a tank!” At least around the house!!
You look gorgeous! and love the haircut, really love both outfits.
How are the LD Tuttle shoes? Are they comfortable for all day walk? Your posting makes me tempted to get one, do they run true to size or small and do they stretch?
Thank you đ
I love the LD tuttle shoes!!! I had been wanting a pair forever so I’m glad I was able to get such a good deal on these. I got a 38 – my American size is 8 – and they fit perfectly. Maybe they were a teeny bit snug the first few minutes of wearing them, but they loosened up quite well. They’re very comfortable – I didn’t have any issues wearing them shopping for a couple hours.
I think LD Tuttle will become my new shoe obsession!!
Cute bag! There I said! LOL Seriously you look really chic in a casual, I just got out of bed and flung this on kind of way.
