WEARING
James Perse ruched pencil skirt (on sale in size 0 at Shopbop with 20% off – WEAREFAMILY13 – not on sale at Saks, in tie-dye at Revolve, and similar styles at James Perse)
James Perse tank top (n/a)
Demy Lee sweater (sold out)
Rebecca pendant (sent from Forzieri to review, I’m wearing it backwards and shorter)
No6 clogs
Gerard Darel bag (sent by Forzieri to review – see my video review here)
I wanted to show you more James Perse ruched-goodness today and wear this ruched pencil skirt since it’s on sale at Shopbop and an additional 20% off with code WEAREFAMILY13 until tomorrow (you knew about that code right? I gave you early access yesterday on Grechen’s Codes ;)) Sadly, the skirt is only in stock in a size 0 (I’m wearing a size 3), but lucky you if you can wear that size! This skirt is amazing, and really easy to wear, although a bit long on my frame, so I generally cinch it up a bit. It’s also high-waisted which is good for hiding a tummy if you have one…
Now, I feel like it’s time for a weight-loss update. Since I started, which was around February 25th, I’ve lost 17 pounds and I still have 35 more to lose to reach my goal weight of 120 lbs. I really thought I’d be further along by now, but overall, I’m pleased with my progress, given that I have started to build in one cheat-meal a week and I did do some cheating in Florida (although compared to my cheat meals on previous diets, these are TAME. I still don’t eat bread or pasta, my cheats are chips and maybe ice cream. Oh, and I did have a fancy drink last night…). I really like what I’m eating now, which is a David Kirsch protein shake for breakfast, a ton-o-spinach salad with either poached chicken or salmon on it for lunch, red peppers and an egg for a snack, and then some meat and tons-o-kale for dinner. For desert, I have a LaCroix sparkling water – there’s not sugar, just “essence” to “flavor” it, but it smells so good it makes me feel like I’m eating something sweet. Oh, and I’ve been bad and pop some sugar-free sour ice-breakers lately if I need a fix.
My hip/butt area has really toned up and shrunk-down a lot, but as you can tell from the picture (hello!!! saddlebags!!!) there’s still work to be done. Although I don’t think those will ever disappear completely – I’m doomed to have saddlebags forever, it’s just the shape of my body, and that’s where I carry my weight. And my thighs are getting bigger I think, because of all the Pure Barre work I’m doing. Actually, I believe that if I wasn’t exercising so much, I would be losing weight faster, so I’m going to go down to only 5 days a week – I can’t cut it out completely; it’s what keeps me sane, but my thighs have definitely bulked up a bit.
How are you doing? Have you tried to lose weight/get healthy since the new year?
You look FANTASTIC! Saddlebags are a pain, at any weight. Love the skirt!
You’re really inspiring me with this journey you’re on. Keep up the great work (and the awesome outfit shots that always make me buy more stuff!)
Funny you’d wear this skirt now – I’ve been trying to find it online this week. I need Size 3 as well. So, my question is, do you think it can be dressed up? I’m trying to figure out what to wear to a wedding this summer, and I’m thinking a stretch pencil skirt with a silk blouse (hello, Everlane!) Would that work or is it too casual? Not that I can even find it. My body shape does not welcome tube-style skirts but I thought this one with all the ruching and stretch might work. Does it hug the butt area a lot? You look great!
Thank you Katherine!! Be sure to mention that to Leo, he bought me the skirt π although I don’t think he’s a big fan!!
Saks starts their friends and family on Monday, I think they still have most sizes in stock, don’t they? It’ll be 25 percent off…
Yes, it does hug the butt, but not in an obscene way LOL. And i think it would look great with a silk blouse and nude sandals or wedges – that’s how I’d dress it up. I have a wedding this summer too – maybe I’ll try that!
Thanks Karen! I’m having such a hard time shopping and not buying lately though, because everything Fits now!! Not a bad problem to have, but i don’t need to buy too much right now…
Love how you know when all the F&F and coupon codes are coming up! Thanks π oh btw is Rachel Comey included in the Saks sale?
I’m not absolutely sure who’s excluded yet, but I’m guessing it’ll be valid on rachel comey. Hope so anyway π
Well, maybe the slower-than-expected progress will mean it it’s longer lasting.
I think the change is already visible. Congratulations.
Thanks! You look amazing btw. Don’t get discouraged by the slow weight loss. The faster it comes off the easier it goes back on. My girlfriend lost 15lbs over 4 months 3 yrs ago and has kept it off with no problems. I try to eat at least 1 Vegan meal a day sometimes 2. I love it. I feel amazing and have tons of energy. The smoothies at Beaming Vitality Bar (San Diego) are delicious.
I agree with Lisa and Irena, having been there myself with different weight loss programs. “Slow and steady wins the race!” And you look great, no doubt about it. I was looking at an outfit post from several years ago, and you have changed SO much. You just look happier and more confident, and of course, slimmer.
I have been trying not to shop without success. It’s just too danged fun! (but I’ll have a great wardrobe to wear to Chicago when the baby finally comes! Soon now…April 29th is her due date!)
You look great! Five days a week is a great amount for intense exercise, because it is good to give yourself a little bit of recovery time, but 5 days is awesome!
