So, I’m off again – this time to Florida for the weekend to visit my dad (he had surgery this week – but he’s doing fine :)) and this is my airplane outfit. I don’t know why, but I don’t like to wear short skirts/dresses on the plane; I like to keep my legs covered. AND, I was going to wear my Swedish Hasbeens clogs that I wore on the plane last time, but my feet are SO BLISTERED from my “cute” shoes yesterday that I don’t want to wear anything covering my toes 🙁 , so I’m wearing my Calypso flat sandals.
I don’t get it, do people just suffer through cute shoes, or are you guys actually finding comfortable pairs? The Corso Como shoes I wore yesterday were comfortable, and it’s not like I walked miles, or stood around forever, I just had a normal day. But I wanted to CUT MY FEET off after wearing them. That’s never happened to me with my Swedish Hasbeens clogs, or Robert Clergerie shoes…or flats for that matter. What gives?
Wearing:
James Perse maxi dress
LnA tee underneath
Flats from Calypso
Linea Pelle bag
That is a great travel outfit- comfortable for lots of walking and sitting and waiting, but also lovely and chic….. plus the bag is fabulous!
I know what you mean about “cute” shoes. I pretty much stay in flats all of the time now. I love my heels, wedges, and such but even if I’m just going to lunch and walking around, I end up uncomfortable. At least there are tons of cute flats available!!
Cathy Benavides´s last blog post ..Whats In My Purse!!
Grechen, I think you look very cute and I also feel that flat sandals are perfect with the length of that dress. Oh, and I don’t know if it’s the lighting or what, but you look super tan! Have a safe trip.
I feel the same way about traveling on a plane. I don’t like to show my legs! Have fun in Florida. Glad to hear your dad is doing OK.
I’m exactly the same way about wanting my legs covered on a plane. It gets cold on there!
About the shoes, I think some of us are just (cursed? blessed? haha) with sensitive feet that just don’t toughen up like others do. I have a friend who worked at Aldo, where she was wearing 3″+ heels EVERY DAY running back and forth from the stock room, on their non-carpeted, tile floors! My feet cringe at the thought of such things. I can only be a solid heels wearer at work where our floors are carpeted and I spend most of my time sitting. 😛
I hope your Dad/shopping guru is doing OK! Get well wishes to him!!! And I hear ya’ about the plane…my daughter has had a couple of weird experiences in shorts (When she fell asleep, the ‘creeper’ next to her tried to cover up her legs with a blanket!!! YIKES!) so there’s safety and warmth in the long dress. As for shoes, I don’t think I’ve found a truly comfy pair yet; I’m a size 10.5 wide, so it’s next to impossible to find anything but ‘grandma’ shoes. lol
thanks, my dad is doing well, he came home from the hospital today 🙂
that’s creepy about your daughter. whoa. yeah, i always wear jeans or long skirts/dresses on the plane. just more comfortable
ugh. aldo shoes SUCK. i had several pairs years ago when they first came to the states and they were awful.
i don’t know…i feel very left out, because whenever i try to wear something other than clogs or flats, i am uncomfortable. and i HATE to be uncomfortable!!
