This is what I wore yesterday. As I write, I’m still groggy from the anesthesia and basically my whole face is hardcore numb still from having the wires/bars removed from my mouth. The dr said my jaw is healed and strong, but it will take awhile before I can open very far, and hopefully my teeth will stop hurting after a few days.
The hardest part about this whole thing today? I still haven’t had my coffee yet!!!!
Anyway, in light of the new ES launch, and my current clothing woes (things being too big for me, etc.), I’ve done another pretty significant purge, of pants mostly. If they’re tight on my calves, gone; they’re uncomfortable, and make the pants bunch at the knees. That is my big problem area, as you know, and it’s tough for me to find jeans/pants that don’t cling at the calves. I have some that don’t, like these Florence pants (which are a bit big now), my clyde culottes, my sweatpants and my Rachel Comey denim, so why keep around the ones I don’t like?
And I’m pretty sure I’m going to order the Andy trousers in early February, in black linen, size medium, regular, instead of the florence pants. I’m really interested in the Andy trousers. And speaking of wardrobe planning 2018, I’m really proud of myself for sticking to my “plan” so far. More on that tomorrow!
Congratulations on getting the wires removed!!! Even if you’re still uncomfortable that must feel great to get past this.
Ahhhh yay for finally getting everything removed! What a relief, I’m sure. I hope you continue healing well and the soreness diminishes quickly.
This outfit is an absolute dream. I LOVE the way you rolled up the sleeves on the sweater.
I have a pair of black canvas Florence pants arriving tomorrow, and part of me thinks I don’t really need more pants, but I’m also so tempted by the Andy trousers in linen. I just love the shape and I think it would be nice to have one more pair of tapered pants. But how do I decide on a color?? Haha. Thankfully it’s not going anywhere so I’ve got time to be slow and responsible with my decision and my money. You’re really motivating me to make better choices. I can’t wait to see how you style the pants 🙂
oh, can’t wait to hear what you think of the florence pants in black canvas. i bet they’ll be amazing on you!! 🙂
i actually loved the way the older andy trousers looked on liz during her story, i thought they were PERFECT on her! i worry a bit about the tapered legs and my calves, but i think the andy’s are still wide enough they won’t stick.
i’m just SO TORN on linen vs silk LOL – i just love love love these florence silk pants; they make me want all the silk. but maybe one pair of silk pants is enough? haha..
Did you own the silk Florence pants in the summer? I live in Florida and when the humidity is 100% I worry that the silk will be a hot mess sticking to my body! But…I also wonder if the mid weight linen will be too heavy? I keep adding and deleting from my cart because I can’t makeup my mind! ?
OMG no coffee yet?! The horror! But congrats on the wires coming off. Looking fwd to your Andy review. And I love the sleeves on that sweater. Looks like marshmallows.
yes! that was the hardest part, not drinking ANYTHING for six hours before. that actually gave/gives me nightmares. i walk around with a water bottle literally everywhere and am always drinking something, so to not be allowed for six hours is torture! but now, i’m caffeinated and all better…
i love the sleeves too, but honestly, they’re sort of a pain. and i knew that when i got it, that i would be annoyed by them, but i decided to do it anyway. i swore off “bell” sleeves a long time ago or sleeves like this because they tend to get in the way, even when they’re rolled up. and these don’t stay rolled as well as i’d like them to. but…i love and wear the sweater all the time, so it must not bother me too much!! but i’m trying to be much more aware of stuff like this when i buy things now – like little pet peeves with sleeves LOL
i owned them at the end of the summer, but i had an earlier pair that were too small on me the previous summer and did wear them once or twice, but wouldn’t do it again. they don’t get THAT sticky, but i really prefer linen in that case, it’s just so much more breathable, and never sticks.
generally when i visit florida, i wear dresses, but if i get the linen andy trousers before my trip in mid-march, i will wear them and report back! i wear my linen harper tunic in the summer here and find it very comfortable…i think for you, linen first, and then if you can/have the budget, silk later 🙂
Yeah Grechen-

This is cute! I love the loose over floaty look…even if you didn’t intend for it to be that floaty! Yay for the wires getting removed so you can get back to normal life.
