You know all those people who go to Target and never leave without spending $100 (mostly on stuff they didn’t come in for)? Well, that’s totally not me, but yesterday, I did a double take walking by this dress and when I tried it on, knew I had to have it. I LOVE that it just covers my knees, but not really (because the fabric is so sheer) and that it ties around my waist with a belt made of the same fabric; I tried it with a thicker black leather belt, but I didn’t like it as much. This shape on me is great – it just makes me want to buy more dresses like this…and although there were other patterns to choose from, I loved this one – horizontal stripes be damned.
I’m wearing with my new No.6 clogs from Creatures of Comfort and Fullum & Holt bag from Emmy’s Boutique.
Looks great!
And I just have to put your mind at ease about horizontal stripes… a perception study released last year deemed that horizontal stripes are actually more slimming than vertical! Hope that makes your day. π http://fashionlovespeople.com/2008/09/23/horizontal-stripes-good/

haha! thanks janette! i think i had heard that before – probably read that blog post…
Terrific find…I love it. It looks great on you.
wow, thank you darcy π
wow! what a pretty dress!
you know, recently i’ve become really prudish when going to target, with a list and only gettting EXACTLY what is on that list. they have enough of my money.
π
that said, i did try on some anna sui for target recently, still on the fence about it.. i’d like to know how your dress holds up!
LOL, i usually do that to – stick to my list – but i did check out some of the anna sui stuff, but didn’t try anything on, first, because i didn’t find much i liked, and second, because those designer collabs NEVER fit me – they’re more like juniors sizing. i’m really not expecting it to hold up for long, it is 100% polyester and very thin, but i might be surprised!
That dress is beautiful on you! I would never have guess it was from Target. Very flattering.
thank you so much rachel!
It IS great on you! (and I love the shoes) I’m one of those people that walks in and spends too much–almost always $84 for some odd reason–but I’ve resolved lately to stick with my list even if it kills me! lol
LOL…$84?
thanks for the compliment π
ooo pretty! you could layer it with many variations too, now that the weather is starting to cool. it’s kind of bohemian and reminds me of the classic missoni print π
