Finally…I’m wearing the amazing, gorgeous silk Emmanuelle Khanh silk top I (really, my friend Sharon) got at the clothing swap during the Texas Style Council conference:
wearing: Emmanuelle Khanh silk top | Madewell skirt | Madewell belt | Chan Luu necklace | 3.1 Philip Lim bag | Kurt Geiger platforms
I’m on location at MOSS Designer Consignment where I went to see my friend Sari and check out new stuff. Of course I left with something – a vintage Wrangler denim shirt (!!!!). And doesn’t my outfit go perfectly with the rug?? Anyway, my top was originally from Market Publique and it is absolutely beautiful; although I will admit the color scared me a bit at first. But since I’ve started swapping, thrifting, and vintage shopping more, I’ve learned to appreciate details, including unexpected colors, and I’m having fun working them into my wardrobe! Here’s a close-up that I took in Instagram (are you following me yet? I’m “grechen”)
On another note, but not really, I think I’ve resolved to not buy anything “new” for a while (with the exception of when Shopbop does their annual tax break coupon code π ) and just stick to vintage/thrifted/consignment shopping. I’m really enjoying the vintage and thrifted pieces I’ve picked up lately; they’re just more interesting and fun. And while I was trying on stuff today at MOSS (an AMAZING DvF sequin jacket) I realized I have a great wardrobe of basics, now what I need are accent pieces. Things that make you go “wow” when you put them on…
YAY! What a great outfit! I had a feeling that mustard yellow would suit your coloring!
Loving the yellow top and skirt, but can we talk about the belt?? It is KILLER. Totally makes the whole outfit. Niiice.
I also have been *trying* to only buy thrift, but it’s hard. #shoppingaddict
I LOVE this look. Next time I am at your house, this needs to be hidden from me. I want to steal it! Great find, Sharon!
Are you wearing YELLOW? I might be hallucinating. I love it!!!
Also, MOSS is a dangerous and wonderful place. I agree.
Thrift and vintage clothing stores are hands down treasure troves where you can find unique and wonderful pieces!
haha!! yes, it’s more like chartreuse though π i owe it all to my friend sharon – she picked it out for me, i’m not sure i would have!! but i love it.
thank you!! i kind of stalked that belt at madewell until it went on sale π
it’s too big for me though, and because of the shape, impossible to add more holes….
I love that top on you Grechen! Marvelous skirt too! It’s so fun to vintage shop. I’m moving to Austin soon, and can’t wait to see what stores await me π
thanks shannon!! oh..look me up when you get here, we’ll go shopping π
Gorgeous! Love the color of this top – it looks perfect with the maxi and this amazing belt. Great look!
That skirt is really beautiful, so nice on you. I LOVE the necklace, too.
