(gah! should have worn lipstick!!!)
Remember when I mentioned yesterday I’d be pulling out some pieces from my closet I haven’t worn in YEARS? Well…here they are; who remembers these pants?? I got them at Anthropologie in 2007 and did wear them quite a bit for about a year, but after that, they didn’t fit me anymore (funny…here’s an almost identical outfit from 2008). Actually, they never really fit me very well, but I was in love with them, so I wore them anyway. Now, they fit PERFECTLY 🙂
They’re still a bit over the top, especially for Austin…but I still love them. There’s just something about a super-flare, super-wide leg pant that feels so good. Especially in this fabulous heavier-weight jersey…
Next week I’ll pull my oldest pair of jeans, my HG (holy grail) jeans from Goldsign I bought in early 2006. They still look AMAZING, and have held up very well (I mean…they should have for the price I paid for them – about $250!). Although you’ll have to tell me if they look dated…
What’s your oldest pair of jeans? Do you still wear them?
Do you find yourself wearing pieces from your closet that are years old on a regular basis? or are you sticking to newer stuff?
Have a great weekend!
I love these jeans on you!! They look really stylish to me, and not at all dated. You look wonderful…congrats being able to wear some of your old stuff!
I’m so ridiculously fanatic about cleaning out my closet (I think most people would call it OCD…) and getting rid of old stuff, that I never seem to have things that used to fit me. And I go up and down in weight so often, that it always means I have to buy new clothes! (maybe that’s called a ‘calculated weight gain’).
Love it!
that’s awesome. i’ve gained too much weight over the years to fit into my early year designer jeans from 2004. i still have them because i have hope that i will be able to one day! some sevens and goldsigns from around then got TOO much love that they started wearing out and the jean doctor prices weren’t worth it.
That happens to me as well, either I use it till I trashed it or I just get rid of it…My oldest pair of jeans is from last year!!

Do you toss it so you can just go shopping for new stuff?
Yes, this always happens to me with jeans, It’s really difficult to find the perfect fit. I am always looking for them. Now I have more time off I am undergoing a big closet purge, but I am also in a shopping ban, so I won’t be any more things for the moment…

This just hit me, probably because of the convo that @lunaday and I were having. But, does every woman find it as hard to find jeans as I do, no matter what type your body? I usually get frustrated after trying on about 7 pairs and then just give up for another month or so. Grechen, perhaps you’ve done a post on this before, but I’d love to see a post on finding the perfect jeans for ME (the collective “ME”). Maybe even a series: price ranges, why some denim is really pricey and others, not so, what’s flattering to different body types/heights/weights, etc. Any help in that area is appreciated, because jeans are always a NEED!! xox
i did have a denim guide MANY years ago, it was very comprehensive and based on feedback from hundreds of readers. maybe i can do something like that again…i think it was very helpful.
