Splendid poncho
Splendid maxi skirt/dress | 20% off at Splendid (ends today!) – I have two of these and can’t recommend them enough. I’m wearing a medium. The blue waffle double-v knit top I’m wearing here is also 20% off right now.

I’ve discovered something amazing, well, not amazing, but useful – I’ve been combining my Shiseido sunscreen with Argan oil in the mornings in an effort to be more vigilant about using sunscreen and I think it has an added bonus of acting as sort of a primer. I almost feel like the sunscreen evens out my skin tone and the oil brightens my skin. And lately I’ve found that I can just use a little RMS beauty un-cover up (#22) on my cheeks to cover redness and don’t need any other foundation. Love this! And then I read that we’re supposed to be using sunscreen on our hands, so I’m trying to do that also, but I HATE the way it feels on my fingers/palms. I want to wash it off immediately, but it will wash off the tops of my hands too…ugh. I just need to apply it more often I guess, along with hand cream, which is something I definitely don’t do enough. But I always notice women’s hands, and I think they do tend to show age more when they’re not moisturized, so I’m trying!!!
Also, I want to mention undergarments again – since it’s been a while LOL. I just got some new bras by Cosabella: the Dolce soft bra (which I’m wearing today) and the Ever soft bra, and I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. Since I’m rather small, I can wear soft, unstructured bras, but I love the Cosabella ones because they actually DO provide support and lift, without wires. They’re the bras I want to wear ALL DAY and not take off as soon as I get home. You know what I mean, right? I have (had) a joke with my friend that if my bra’s off, I’m in for the night.
Anyway, I got the Cosabella bras from their website with a deal I found on Rue La La, so I got the bras for a steal (I posted the deal on Facebook – follow me there if you don’t already!), but I highly recommend them if you have a small cup size and like soft bras, they’re so sweet and comfortable. I did also get the Talco soft bra but I’m exchanging it for a larger size; the medium was way too tight around my ribcage.
Oh, and seriously? This outfit is so comfortable it should be illegal. And by illegal I mean not appropriate to wear outside the house. But it is 😉 And both pieces are made in the US. win/win.
I want that entire outfit! Can’t believe how comfy you look. I also do the same mixing with my argan oil and sunscreen. It extends the life of each product. I hate sunscreen on my hands. So far, they’re not showing my age. Maybe I’ll wake up one day, with Wicked Witch of the East Coast talons. As for bras, I wish that I could wear soft, unstructured bras, but “the girls” won’t allow me too;).
I dislike sunscreen on my hands (and I don’t want to pay to use what I use on my face every time I wash my hands) I like the body moisturizers with SPF in them – tend to be cheaper than moisturizers I use on my face and I’m not as concerned about the ingredients as I would be with something near my eyes or mouth. I use a Kiehls I don’t see on the website any more (think it was a creme de corps with SPF 15) and the Banana Boat protect & hydrate. Most drugstores have some options eg from Vaseline or Neutrogena.
Here’s a list someone else put together – nice, now I have some other ideas to try as well 😉 http://skincare.about.com/od/sunkissedglow/tp/9bodylotionswithspf.htm
Whoops! Meant “to” not “too.” Hate when I type faster than I can think.
good point kelly – i’ll try to find a good body lotion i like for my hands/arms. another problem area is my neck/décolletage – i KNOW i don’t put enough sunscreen there…
and thanks for the link!
it is RIDICULOUS how comfortable this outfit is. it’s like i’m not even wearing anything. but i am..
i know i’m very lucky that i can wear soft bralettes because i REALLY REALLY hate bras!
I’m still really careful about my face and neck, but I probably have the hands of a 95-yr. old. At this point, meh….
And you do look adorable and comfy at the same time! I’m headed out to Chicago this week to go wedding dress shopping with my girls. My eldest, Jordan, is getting married and so this will be a really fun weekend. Her middle sis, Rach, is the “wedding planner-zilla”…so we’ll see how that part goes! 😉 I’ll comment when I return on Monday, so have a great weekend everyone!
