I’ve had this dress for a while (got it with a Refinery29 Reserve several months ago – speaking of Refinery29 Reserves, did you guys get the Rachel Pally one that started yesterday?? I did!!! Can’t resist cheap(er) Rachel Pally…) but don’t wear it very often because it’s VERY snug in the hips. When I bought it, I was about 10 pounds smaller; thank goodness for long cardigans 😉
Speaking of long cardigans, and weight, I’m 4 classes in to the living hell that is pure barre and I love it! It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done (that includes Bikram) and I have NEVER felt burn like that before, but that means it’s working, right? I’m also back to cutting out all the “white stuff” from my diet, which is what I did last year to lose 30 pounds, so at least I’m back on the right track. I feel good anyway, and that’s the most important thing.
Living hell aside, if you’re looking for a new workout, try pure barre – it’s pretty amazing. But sooooooo hard. You really feel like you did something when you’re finished though, and once I get to where I can complete all the repetitions for all the movements, I’ll REALLY feel like I’ve accomplished something 😉
pretty dress! I’ve tried a version of pure barre–all those tiny movements are exhausting!
Sharon´s last blog post ..No.6 floral dress
That dress is sweet!! My friend Monique and I have recently gotten back into working out and we are killing ourselves trying new stuff. I’ve forgotten what it’s like to not have sore legs……. this means we must try pure barre!!
Cathy Benavides´s last blog post ..I met Brad Goreski……. and now I can die happy
That dress is SO flattering with the diagonal stripes. I love the entire look! After seeing pics of myself in DC for Rachel’s graduation, I HAVE to do something different. UGH!!! You’re doing great–keep up the [hard] work!
yay cathy!! i kind of like having sore legs – feels like you’re doing something with your body, you know?
pure barre is insane. after the first two beginners’ specials, though, it’s really expensive. i’m pretty sure it’s worth it, however 😉 just means fewer new shoes…
yes. i’m exhausted just thinking about them. 😉
i hear you…but your outfit sounded SO cute. so far i’m not noticing any changes to my body with the pure barre, but they say it takes 10 classes to really start to notice, and to even be able to do everything correctly…i’m trying to be patient 😉
It is hard to be patient, but I know that when I stick to the “program” I do succeed. (and thanks for your nice words. I liked my outfit, just not ME in it!)
Wow Grechen! Love the outfit. Especially the dress. I found an xs online…but do you think it runs small or true to size? I am not sure if I can fit into an xs. 🙂
thanks jennifer!!
mine is a medium, and fits, but is pretty snug in my hips. a large would have fit my hips better but it would have been big up top (i did have the straps taken up and the dress hemmed). if you’re not hippy, i think you could size down in the dress…so, generally, i think the dress runs pretty true to size.
You are funny! Hippy… I like that. ;). I will try it out then and see how it goes.
