I love this dress so much, and I wish I could wear it more often, but I haven’t gotten it hemmed yet. Actually, when I bought it, I intended to wear it belted and bunched up a bit so it wouldn’t be so long. And that seemed to work better on my figure anyway, because I have such a short waist, dresses (especially column-style dresses) tend to fit me a little weird. I’d like to be able to cut about a 1/2 yard of material from the middle of the dress and sew it back in without creating a seam. Not going to happen. I did try and wear it belted, but it didn’t stay up and ended up being more annoying than it was worth.
Anyway, this dress is on sale at Barney’s right now for $59, so I wanted to share it with you again, in case you’ve been wondering about it. The fit on me is a bit snug because of my hips and short waist, and I’m wearing a size large. I’ve washed/dried it successfully several times and it’s holding up well – I’ve always found that my Splendid pieces last a long time – no problems at all so far.
Love the dress! Too bad they’re out of my size at Barney’s and the dress is still more expensive on Shopbop.
yeah, barney’s is definitely the cheapest. it’s scattered around here and there online, but not in gray (my favorite color ;)) and not at such a great price!
I think it looks better on you than it does on the Barney’s model. =)

i do actually like it a bit scrunched like i’m wearing it…
The dress looks amazing on you…I don’t have any maxi dress or skirt, I guess it’s because I like my legs and I like to show them : ) but seeing you in one make me wanting it. Love the grey color as well.
I like it scrunched, too. I think things are more flattering worn that way (and on me, you can’t tell the difference between a fat fold and a fold in the fabric!). I think it gives you one long line without a belt. Love it!
