Elizabeth Suzann Florence Pants in Linen | size medium, regular length
Entireworld recycled cotton tee | large (gift from Entireworld)
Birkenstock Arizona sandals | secondhand
Marsell Dritta 4 bag
First and most obviously, I received my Elizabeth Suzann linen florence pants and decided to keep them. They arrived by surprise – I didn’t get a shipping email or anything – right before we left for the beach, and I’ve worn them constantly since then. The medium is definitely the right size, and regular the right length. My only “problem” with them (and all wide leg, elastic waist pants) is that they just pool to the floor when I have to use the bathroom. I don’t mind this at home, but rest areas? airports? EWWW. I did wear these home on our 15-hour drive from Florida and regretted it the first time we stopped for a bathroom break. Ugh. I have to keep hold of them so they don’t fall and that is a pain. I mean, sure, I realize what I’m complaining about, but still.
Also, I got a nice gift from Entireworld last week of this tee I’m wearing, another cropped one and a pair of their new organic cotton panties. I have worn everything at least twice already, and this tee 4-5 times in about a week. Yes, the website is really tough to navigate and I hate the music playing in the background that I can’t seem to turn off, but the products are fantastic. I really really really love this tee. They sent me a large, which is probably one size too big, but this style runs small I think, so I wouldn’t want a small in it. The crew neck is perfect (it lays flat. yay!) and washes well, still holding it’s shape. The panties are also great – I got a bikini pair in medium. And they’re a good price for organic cotton IMO. I’ll write more about my overall thoughts in another post.
Finally, has anyone shopped the Nordstrom Anniversary sale? Every year I take a look, and sometimes I buy things, but most of the time I return them, and/or find the selection underwhelming AND disappointing (did you know that most of the designers participating in the sale make pieces that are exclusive to the sale?).
I keep going to the site, first, to watch the video of David from Schitt’s Creek OVER AND OVER AND OVER again 🙂 Also, because I could use one or two more pairs of Retro Thongs by Hanky Panky, and I keep checking to see if the Patagonia pullover I had in my cart the first day comes back in stock… (which it actually did as I was writing this, but only in the off-white color, which I don’t want. Ugh.). I’ll just wait for the REI sale this fall for Patagonia.
There are some nice James Perse dresses on sale for the anniversary sale, but I’m good on JP dresses for now (something I thought I’d never say!!). Otherwise, I am not tempted by anything at all. How about you?
That’s it for now, I’ll write about vacation/thoughts/etc. later in the week.
I missed you guys!!
When I saw David in the Nordstrom Anniversary sale I thought of you! 😉
🙂
i love him SO MUCH. david, yes, but also daniel LOL
I don’t have early access to the Nordstrom sale, but I have a list of items I’m looking for when I’m able to shop (and for Amazon Prime day later today….) So, no hopeless shopping, only shopping with a plan….
that’s the best way to shop! i never really find much on prime day – i did get my kindle on sale last year, but that’s it. we have our $10 credit though from spending money at whole foods so…
i bought a sewing machine!!!! they had one for prime day and i got my extra $10 off so it was a steal. so excited 🙂
they also had pact organic cotton leggings at a great price, but i could never get them to add to my cart. oh well.
What did you choose? I’ve only been sewing for 2 years and it’s THE (swearword) BEST! All sewists will have your back if you need tips on the new machine or sewing or good patterns or whatever.
It’s seriously the best. (“I wish this was like this….but different.”)
I wish you happy sewing!
OMG i got some awesome Miranda Bennet Palazzo pants and the pooling issue is my enemy. I’ve been carefully pulling them up but it’s so annoying. I never thought about this issue before I bought them. I guess like I never thought about the romper issue before I got one of those.
Right?? Who would have thought??
I’m so excited! I just bought an inexpensive brother machine that ended up being 50 percent off! It’s nothing fancy but it will do until I get better and need and better machine..
Welcome back Grechen!!
Yup…it’s a PITA to use the bathroom with baggy leg pants…but the comfort in wearing makes it worth the effort.
My wardrobe must be in a happy place as I could barely find anything to buy at the NAS. The order I placed should be at my house tomorrow. From Eileen Fisher I ordered a ivory colored cashmere tunic. I’m always on the search for a sweater like this that is thick enough to wear without a layer underneath. If this one is too thin, it will immediately go back. EF also had an interesting stripey patterned cardigan that will be perfect for work. It’s in merino wool and again…hoping the quality is there.
I also ordered some smart wool footies and ankle socks that will get loads of wear, and a Chanel lipstick special (love my Chanel lippies). That’s it, and I looked through shoes, boots, bags, coats etc.
That’s awesome!!! I upgraded our sewing machine a couple years ago (A Janome from Costco to replace the Brother from Walmart 😉 I’m not very good at sewing but the machine makes it MUCH easier when I try than it used to be!!! I ordered a sports bra. Am looking at Amazon again to see if there’s anything else (so many problems with the website yesterday – and my phone app wouldn’t load at all – so I gave up….)
I used my moms old singer to learn- I’m so glad I did. You will love the Brother- they are super easy to use. Happy sewing!
thank you!!
i learned on my mom’s old singer too, and that one is actually the one i want, but it has a wood case and cast iron legs so it’s not portable. and i don’t have a place for it right now. but i prefer the old school “manual” way of sewing on it LOL. i’m sure i’ll love how easy the brother is though!
James Perse seen at Marshall’s!

Thanks for sharing! FYI James Perse at Marshall’s, Nordstrom rack, etc are usually not the “main” brand and are made specifically for discount stores and are not the same quality. You can always tell if they’re made specifically for those stores if they’re made in Guatemala or Mexico.
