James Perse mini canvas tote WITH TOTE ORGANIZER INSIDE!!!!
I’m all about sleeves lately. I actually didn’t wear sleeveless tops for most of my life because I hated my arms and upper arm fat so much I just couldn’t do it. Now, I am much happier with my arms (although I can’t seem to budge my “hi helen” – as mamavalveeta would call it – tricep fat) and wear sleeveless without much thought, but I do get rather cold when I’m inside that way. Sleeves to the rescue.
I’ve been wearing my Sunja Link dress (which I’m taking to get altered tomorrow, you may be happy to hear!), my Oak dress and this Eileen Fisher dress regularly lately. I’m still searching for one or two more dresses with longer sleeves, and may have found one, but more on that in a more comprehensive “dresses with sleeves” roundup.
But first, just FYI this Eileen Fisher silk dress I tried on earlier in the summer is on sale now. The cobblestone color is SO BEAUTIFUL, and the dress fit me wonderfully (I think I tried on the small). I just wouldn’t know where to wear it….
Back to my own EF organic cotton handkerchief linen dress: it’s amazing, so comfortable, and pretty SHEER. Not completely sheer, but it’s not opaque, so I always wear boy shorts with it, and yesterday I wore the Spanx shorts I got from the NAS, and was perfectly happy. Of course, then I decided that I wanted another pair of two and now they’re sold out in black. Thanks NAS 😉
And minor point, a small reason why I don’t wear a lot of short dresses, is that if I wear my bag on my shoulder, the dress sneaks up and up and up above my knees, and higher, so I have to keep pulling it down. Annoying. But another good reason to wear longer boy shorts with dresses like this; no peek-a-boo.
But speaking of the bag, which I love as you probably know, I ordered the nylon tote insert I mentioned last week and have been using it for a few days with great success. It works really well, and keeps everything completely organized, not just spilled about at the bottom of the bag. I do sort of wish the entire thing zipped up so it would provide some closure for bags that don’t have their own closures, but that’s a minor issue. All in all, I wonder why I didn’t get something like this sooner…it’s a wonderful solution to keeping things in place in an open tote.
Yay!!! So happy that you’re getting your cute Sunja Link dress altered! It was too good for pillows.
“Wow” to the Xirena dress…It’s just something I don’t associate with your style. Do explain, please! 🙂
i like the color(s)! and i first saw it modeled at heist and liked it MUCH better than how shopbop styles it. not a fan of the tiered skirt, but i might try it anyway. we’ll see 🙂
Yay for sleeves! I am not an outdoorsy person, which means I’m inside in the AC quite a bit. And my shoulders and toes are the first things to get cold. I’m always on the lookout for stuff with sleeves. And I’m totally getting that tote organizer. I switched to a smaller purse because I could never find my stuff in big totes. But not I can organize it!
