wearing: Dog printed dress from Anthropologie (secondhand) | No6 Clogs | 3.1 by Philip Lim bag
I know what you’re thinking: What happened to Grechen? Yes, I am wearing a dress with DOG PRINTS on it, and it IS short. Way to throw you for a loop, eh π
I got this dress last week from MOSS designer consignment while shopping with Linda, Indiana & Sydney. I had seen it before and liked it (I also remember liking it when I saw it at Anthropologie), but wasn’t totally convinced. When I tried it on again and modeled for the ladies, they loved it on me (at least they said so) and I caved. My BIGGEST problem with this dress is that you can see my knees, but I really loved the neckline and the sleeves. I do not like to see my knees. But, I’ve lost 20 pounds since the beginning of this year, and they’re getting better, so I think I can start to show them a bit more. AND Linda has this dress and loves it…So, I thought I’d go for it.
Happy Monday!!
First of all, your knees are lovely, and second- that dress looks awesome on you! I am so glad you got it so that we all get to see it π
You’re going to hate this cheesy comment, but, that dress is so DOGGONED cute on you! And there you go taunting me again with Phillip Lim. I guess we’re even. :o)
haha! i love your cheesy comment π
You look so cute! I love that dress and your bag. Even if the dress is out of your comfort zone, it suits you beautifully!
I think body self-consciousness can be really subjective and specific to the person. For example, I think your knees look totally normal and cute in this dress! If you hadn’t mentioned it, I probably wouldn’t have even looked at them. But I have and I don’t see any reason for the self-consciousness. Still, I totally relate cause I have my own body stuff… we all do! Kudos to you, btw! 20 is a milestone!
thanks jess!! i guess it’s the realistic pessimist (:)) in me that my eye focuses immediately on the part of my body i’m less comfortable with than the good parts – at least now i’m only down to ONE part, as opposed to the whole thing!!
You look polished, sophisticated, and radiant. With everything you’ve got going on, I don’t think I’d be focused on the knees! π
You already know how I feel about this one! Glad you are wearing it. I think you look FABULOUS!
Not that it’s funny feeling self-concious about your body, but I couldn’t help and chuckle that your worried about your knees!! I love this dress on you and think it looks great at that length (that you consider short).
It goes to show you that we all have our body issues because I sure wouldn’t have worn a dress or skirt out years ago for fear of exposing my skinny legs. I’ve come to realize life is just too darn short to give so much thought about something that’s uniquely you and that you pretty muchcan’t change.
Totally flattering and ADORABLE on you!! (p.s. What the heck’s wrong with your knees???) It sometimes takes awhile for the brain to catch up with the body’s weight loss. True. So, remember that you really DO look great in it, even if your head is saying, “No!”
You did throw me for a loop! I love it! (It’s in your color rules!) You look great and I think your knees look fine! A great little change for you!
Grechen– You look great. With all this hot weather it’s okay to show your knees.
The doggy dress is adorable! I love quirky prints like these especially when they feature an animal. The dress looks great on you, and I see some nice knees behind that bag! π
