Actually here, it’s been pretty mild lately, and anyway, I was mostly going to be inside in the FREEZING cold air conditioning, so a sweater was in order. An Inhabit sweater of course…over a tank top from Target with Gap jeans (the essential style), Mephisto Shoes and my Alexander Wang Donna Bag.
Speaking of Gap jeans, did anyone try out the new styles? I did, and they generally sucked in my opinion. Maybe if I’d swallowed my pride and sized-up a size, they would have fit better around my hips, but then they wouldn’t have fit my waist. Whatever, I didn’t get all the hype and love, but to each her own, right?
I SO agree! I was at GAP today, really looking forward to the “Boot Cut” (with the wider waistband to hold in my menopot)but totally disappointed in the fit. What was wrong with their most recent fit??? I loved them–can you say “size down?”–vanity, for sure, but my narcissistic self liked it.
i tried the boot cut too! i remember liking the way my legs looked, but i couldn’t zip the freaking things…
That was my problem, too. That’s why I hate buying jeans and usually have to find something with a high degree of lycra (but not “Granny panties” so to speak! lol). Any suggestions (and don’t say “Diet and exercise!”)for those of us that have trouble in the tummy area?
I thought the new Gap jeans were supposed to have a better fit. Did you try the curvy fit? Express’ Eva jeans or curvy fit are good for those who have problems with gaping waistbands. They’re the only jeans I’ve found that always fit. We’re not all built like a 2′ x 4′, right? And thank goodness for that.
i never liked the gap’s curvy fit before, so i didn’t try them this time – i have enough pairs of jeans that fit me well, i was just curious what all the hype was about. i still don’t know!
and yes, thank goodness we’re all not built like a 2×4 LOL
i honestly don’t know why the gap keeps trying to revamp their denim line every fall and ends up falling short. jcrew has been much more successful on both the quality and fit front. disappointing!
.-= miss sophie´s last blog ..friday florals =-.
i don’t know…but i haven’t had a lot of luck with j crew either, honestly, i haven’t tried their denim in years, but i’ve always found that the fit at j crew is totally “off” on my body…
you REALLY want my advice? LOL i’d wear a body suit, or “girdle.” i ALWAYS wear my wacoal shaping shorts (GIRDLE) when i wear skirts because i have love handles (hate them) that stick out in skirts/dresses. i do not generally have problems in the tummy area (my issues are all hips/butt) but my sister has a pooch after 2 kids…i’ve recommended to her that she wear a shaper or something to hold it in, but she doesn’t like to feel confined. so i guess you have to make a choice. i don’t mind feeling a little confined just to smooth out my bumbs a little – i feel better when i know i look better….
