David Lerner high-waisted coated leggings
Madewell oversized shirt | mine is a few years older version
Everlane cashmere cardigan | mine is an older color
Freda Salvador Lock D’orsay flats | true to size IMO
Admonish tote
I cannot get enough of these Freda Salvador shoes. So comfortable. I had NO break-in period with these at all. None. I recommend them as highly as I possibly can.
And now that I’ve had these David Lerner leggings hemmed, I’m wearing them all the time. I know, I said I was going to wear dresses/skirts for a while last week, but it got cold here all of the sudden. And windy. Man…it’s WINDY here!
The leggings are crazy high-waisted (They literally come almost up to my bra line!), but in a good way. And I love how the coating gives them a nice interesting texture. It also makes them opaque and nice for camouflaging lumps & bumps. I probably could have sized down to a small, but with the high waist, I was afraid they’d be a little tighter than I wanted up there, and they’re generally comfortable, I just sometimes wish they were a little tighter around my hips.
Happy Tuesday!!
I think that you meant to write “wish they” instead of “with they.”
Freda Salvador shoes are amazing. I have a pair of the loafers and they are going strong after 2 years. You are correct, no break in period. So worth the money. May need to splurge on another pair.
i can’t believe i waited this long to get a pair!
i love the new kind penny loafer d’orsay in the lighter color, but they’re nubuck. i love nubuck, but i took my dieppa restrepo nubuck loafers to be cleaned and the show person said if she “cleaned” them, they’d end up looking more like leather instead of nubuck. so she just brushed them a bit and called it a day. they don’t look terrible, but not great either.
I love this outfit. The cardigan over the shirt – very librarian chic, in a good way!
Very put-together outfit! I wore my coated leggings to work last week. They’re Eileen Fisher, black, and really could pass for skinny jeans. I got a text from my good friend later that day saying, “What did you have on today? The woman in my office saw you and said she loved your outfit!” File under: You know you live in a small town when… 😉
Good to know!
I’m excited to hear that there was no break in period for the FS flats! I ordered a pair for myself over the weekend; will get home from a work trip on Saturday and it’s honestly the thought of new shoes that’s keeping me going this week. They look really versatile in your photos; I injured my back last year and have all but given up on heels… I’ve searched high and low for flat that looks good with the skirts and dresses I prefer to wear for office days. I think these might fit the bill for both work and casual wear.
oh, i’m so excited for you melissa!! (and i TOTALLY relate to looking forward to new shoes in the mail!!)
i really love these with all sorts of outfits, and get compliments on them all the time because they’re so different. i’m not going to lie, i find myself staring at my feet when i wear these – they’re so beautiful…
