I wore this yesterday to walk IKEA with Leo and try to get baby a little closer to coming out. No dice, yet. I’m wearing a variation of this outfit now, for my weekly dr appointment. I can’t wear my Birkenstocks anymore because all my pairs are narrow footbed and my feet have definitely widened this last week; they were becoming very uncomfortable to walk in, sadly. I hope it’s not permanent!!!
Update after the dr appointment: I’m going to be induced on Wednesday. The non-stress test today was pretty lackluster; he barely got three movements in. It was touch and go for a little while that we’d head straight to L&D from the appointment but at the last second the little guy moved enough to satisfy the doctor, so we have an induction scheduled later this week.
I’m not going to lie, I’m nervous about it, and not super-excited about the cascade of interventions that seem inevitable at this point, but outcomes matter, and at my age it is more consequential and complicated for both me and the baby to go past the due date (which is Friday). I consider myself incredibly lucky to have gone this far without any complications or problems at all so I’m hoping things will continue this way and I’ll be able to share more about our beautiful boy in my Friday follow-up this week! Or next week, let’s be honest haha…
I may be more inclined to share quickly on Instagram if you follow me there (either grechen or slowre) if you’re dying to know as soon as it happens LOL.
Happy Monday!!!!!!!
Sending you positive vibes and good wishes, Grechen!
Wednesday! I mean, I totally understand the mixed feelings about interventions, 100%, but for someone who knows you from a distance, the overwhelming feeling is, “She’s going to have her BABY!!!” Here for any regrets over processes that didn’t occur as you might have hoped, completely understandable, but also totally here for ,”You’re going to have your baby!!!”
SOOO EXCITED for you guys!! Best of wishes!!!
If it helps, I had two inductions, and besides Stadol, had no other interventions. Some of us just need a kick start and Mother Nature takes over.
yes, that does help! thank you 🙂
thank you!!
haha. thank you lisa !!!! 🙂
thank you so much!
Sending easy labor vibes, Grechen! You’re going to do great and you’ll be holding your baby very soon. Big hugs!
Good luck and we can’t wait to see that sweet baby! You are a rockstar and you’ve got this.
Good luck! But it sounds like you’re in very good hands!
I follow you daily and rarely comment but I am so excited about the imminent arrival of your baby! Wednesday could be the day!!!! I had a very medically oriented first birth {C-Section, which I recovered from easily} and then a typical second delivery {VBAC, harder recovery, trouble sitting for a week!} and the end result of both was two healthy babies. You look radiant, beautiful and expectant for all the wonders to come! I am so happy for you and will send positive thoughts your way. My “babies” are now 21 and 18 and their birth story certainly does not define them or our relationship. Best wishes to you!
Good luck! You’ve got this. NOBODY knows your body better than you. Listen to it, take everyone’s concern and expertise to heart, and you’ll be fine. Almost there, mama!
Congrats Grechen!
Good luck, so excited for you and I can’t wait to see his cute little face! I will be waiting with baited breath until then! <3 <3
Wow – that was fast (for us; sure it seemed a lot longer to you/Leo). Wishing you everything good as you welcome the little guy to this world! Can’t wait to see him.
I will most certainly be dying to know! You’re about to become a MOM…however you get there, that’s what’s important. I’ll be praying for you, Leo and Baby Boy! Love to you all! XOX Val
I have also been following this journey. It is now Wednesday and you may not see my post until after your beautiful boy is welcomed into the world. I hope and pray that all goes well and as smoothly as possible!!
Good luck, Gretchen! Sending you and the little one all my best wishes.
I wonder if all of Grechen’s followers will be frequently refreshing her post in hopes of news! I know I will be!
All my best, Grechen! I cannot wait to see a picture!
Can’t wait to see him!
