Mixing colors, I can’t do, but mixing metals, I’m all for! I mix my jewelry up all the time, in fact my engagement ring is white gold and my wedding band is yellow gold. I’m a big fan of mixing metals when it comes to jewelry, but I’ve never had to consider my shoes in the equation. I’ll admit, it gave me pause, but not for long 😉
And I know a lot of you guys ARE fashion bloggers, or other types of bloggers, and many of you aren’t, but I wanted to share my article with you for IFB this week: How to be a fashion blogger without a DSLR. The subject of fear and comparing ourselves to others is one that stirs a lot of passion in me, and writing that article was emotional for me. I’m certainly not immune to fear or jealousy, but I’ve come a long way in the last couple of years to mostly conquer those feelings. I really wanted to write the post to encourage everyone who wants to start something new to just start where you are. Don’t worry about what you don’t have, or that you won’t be good enough without fancy equipment or a lot of money to invest – just use what you have, and start where you are.
I hope you have a great weekend!!
1. I will never NOT be jealous of that necklace.
2. Your hair looks great in this pic, not even remotely helmety 🙂
LOL. my hair looks so much better on days i don’t wash it 😉
which are actually most days, but i do have to wash it sometimes…
You give such great advice to bloggers, and, of course to all of your readers. I must admit, I had a minor panic attack when you said that your goal was to eventually take your business offline and work more with developing bloggers. Please. let that phase take a long time, OK? 😉
LOL. I mean do more offline, not only offline. God forbid!!!!!
Sigh of relief….
i missed you while you were away 🙂
congrats on the new baby!!!
I’m still in Chicago. I’m finally catching up with all of my emails. I’m crazy in love with Baby Nora and being a Grandma!
Gretchen, I’ve been following your blog and most recently noting your comments on your hair. Just wanted to go on record as saying I LOVE YOUR HAIR SHORT!!! and I LOVE THE BANGS!!! You look so chic and fresh! The short hair also elongates the line of your neck. Really, don’t grow it longer 🙂
I’m with you! Every time I saw Grechen in that necklace I got major jewelry envy. I was so excited to find it for sale (and on sale) yesterday! It’s at Saks Fashion Fix – I snapped one up immediately, and it’s still available.
I can’t wait for it to arrive 🙂
Thanks, Grechen, for styling it so well!
omg, what a great find emily!! i always forget about saks fashion fix – i think because i got so frustrated in the beginnnig that the clothing sold out so fast. but there’s still some great stuff on there!
i hope you love it as much as i do 🙂
AHHH, thanks Emily! What a good find.
The necklace arrived and I love it! I wore it yesterday and got tons of compliments, though my boyfriend took one look and told me to get his armor ready and point him to the battle 🙂
Omg!! Too funny. My husband hates that necklace. But he hates all my jewelry generally…
