Ugh. I went to Nordstrom to try on Paige jeans with the intention of ordering some with the Refinery29 Reserve deal for Paige (spend $100, get $200) and the deal was EXPIRED by the time I got home!! I usually don’t wait so long to buy one, but I wanted to try on the jeans first. Oh well. I did like the Skyline Skinny jeans, in “Twilight” wash (which they don’t even have on the Paige site), but I wish they were available in petite. Guess I’ll have to wait for a code or sale; I can’t believe I missed it! I better snag that Alkemie jewelry deal ASAP.
Anyway, that aside, I’m never going back to my “old” way of dressing again – I love not worrying or thinking too much about my outfits. Now, I just put them on and am done thinking about them. yay!
Glad you are not going back to your old ways of dressing – that’s an inspiration to the rest of us! SOoOoooo, how you like the Repetto flats?
I want a pair of flats, but the last pair I bought (TB Revas) I returned due to the garish emblem that I thought would grow on me (it didn’t). Plus they really weren’t very comfy on the “wee-wee” toes.
If not the Repetto’s – any other suggestions?
My Repetto flats are my favorite – I have 4 prs. They were comfortable right from the beginning although don’t provide much support. They’re so soft it feels like you’re wearing slippers…
The only trick is getting your size right. I recommend sizing up one full size, but I know that others have only gone up a half size. I tried going up a half size and wasn’t comfortable.
I can’t recommend Repetto bb flats enough – although I do suggest trying to find them on sale π
Hello
You are wearing also a good t-shirt bra. Can you make a recommendation for bras that work as well as the one you have with the James Perse tee? thanks
Hi Grechen, I really like your website and have been checking it out a few times a week. Your post about 20% off at The Outnet led me to check it and snag the last pair of studded Valentino heels in my size — of course for 20% off the already discounted price!
Did the Refinery 29 deal expire b/c a preset number of people bought it, or b/c it was the last day to buy?
I also saw a pair of Repetto wedges yesterday! I may have to bite the bullet and get my first pair of Repettos : )
Yeah I agree about waiting to find them on sale – the cost is ok if I can justify the ratio of cost per wear. Nothing worse than cheap uncomfy shoes that don’t last a few wearings or you can’t stand to wear….but even worse are finding expensive shoes that are uncomfy & you can’t stand to wear those either! Thanks for the advice!
it was the last day to buy the refinery29 deal, but i thought they usually expired them at midnight…oh well! they might have sold out also.
and yay for your Valentino heels – wow!
another reader just bought a pair of repetto wedges – that’s funny! i’m intrigued now…maybe i should try them. i say bite the bullet – but if you can wait, they’ll usually go on sale for a considerable discount. the danger in that is that your size might be sold out.
I just have a question about your “new” way of dressing, Grechen: Do you still have to think about accessorizing, or are you sticking with the same accessories/same outfit kind of thing? Doesn’t “changing it up” make it fun, though, too? I think I’d miss having to think about it (maybe not, you should see what I’m wearing right now…believe me, there was NO thought whatsoever put into today’s outfit!) and getting the chance to “play” with my accessories.
no, i still have to think about my accessories – i just don’t “think” about the foundation of my outfit after i get out of the shower (yes, i plan my outfits in the shower). but you know me, i don’t accessorize much…
i guess to explain, my “new” way of dressing is that i choose the main component of my outfit: jeans, skirt, dress and once it’s on, i can’t change it. i do sometimes mess with the tops/cardigans, but never the main component.
I see what you mean. In other words, your bedroom no longer looks like a tornado has struck after you get dressed in the morning. Unlike my 13-yr. old daughter, who can clean one day and have the “tornado effect” the next. π
