Well, my “essentials” maxi skirt & dress post isn’t coming together as I’d like, so I thought I’d just show you another of my favorite maxi skirts – this one by James Perse, which is on sale for $59 at Last Call right now. You know I can’t get enough JP, and his skirts/dresses are my favorites. They tend to be more body-hugging than most other designers, and this skirt is snug at the waist and flares out at the bottom, which I love. It is kind of a pain if you’re like me, with saddlebags, because they become very prevalent with this type of skirt. Nothing that spanx won’t fix, but I decided not to wear them today. I’m rebelling š
And I got this chambray top yesterday at Madewell, love it, and so glad I feel more comfortable baring my arms this summer, I’ll be much cooler!!
Have a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend – hope you’re taking advantage of some of the great sales…
Cute! I’ve been trying to get that skirt at Last Call, but they seem to be out of my size. I’ll keep on the hunt! Just a question: What would the outfit look like with the top tucked in and with a belt? (I feel like your waist is such a great feature, and you’ve gotten into such great shape, so why hide it?)
Woohoo, no spanx! The whole point of wearing dresses for me is that my tummy feels free, unlike with pants. Looking awesome Grechen.
I have that skirt in a lighter color – it’s awesome and that’s a great price!
i think i’m actually going to exchange the shirt for a small – the medium is a bit big around the waist…and with this skirt, it’s not the best look, but i REALLY wanted to wear this skirt š
No, it’s not BAD in any sense of the word. I just don’t think that it shows off your new figure to it’s best advantage. And seriously, we’ve all talked about how sometimes, we just want to wear what we want to wear. I totally understand that! You still look great! (and a SMALL…OMGee!!)
no, it’s not bad, just not great. and honestly, i didn’t wear the outfit as-is because i just felt overwhelmed by the top with that skirt. and then when i tried to tuck the top in, it bloused out way too much in the back. i think it’s meant for someone much better endowed than me (in the front LOL)….
