What I’m Wearing:
James Perse racerback dress
Robert Clergerie Platform Sandals
Inhabit Cashmere Sweater
Alexander Wang Donna Hobo Bag
P.S. my twitter friend @HeartsDesireJ (also designer of Hearts Desire jewelry) so astutely pointed out my lack of accessories (and suggested some AMAZING necklaces that would work with it), and I couldn’t agree more. If you’ve been looking at my outfits lately, or over the years, you’ll definitely notice I have a hard time accessorizing. (I am actually wearing a lovely Tina Tang teeny tiny star pendant and necklace in rose gold, but it is TEENY TINY and really doesn’t add much to this outfit (I just never take it off); the neckline of this dress is SCREAMING for a bigger, chunkier necklace). Like one of these…

Which one do you think would look best with this outfit?

I love the dress! Wow! Your mix of neutrals is anything but boring.

thanks 🙂
Oh I love it. I would wear the hell out of this outfit.
Also–have you lost some weight? You look great!

ah…well, a little! thanks for noticing 🙂
Gretchen,
Your outfit is fab, and you look great but the bag is too big. You need something smaller and more elegant.

thanks…i’m not really a “small & elegant” kinda girl though 🙂
That is a very slimming outfit and I love that it looks casual like this, but change your shoes and bag and dress it up a bit and you can be more dressed up….with the necklace on the bottom right of course 😉
See, I have to disagree about the dress. I think it’s far too long and overwhelms you. I like the style on top, but I’d like it as a shirt, not a dress.
The rest of the outfit looks comfy casual. I think both the necklaces are too much for the outfit, but forced to make a choice I’d go with #1.
Super cute Grechen!
I love the way you put that together. I wonder if someone as short as myself (5’1″) could pull it off.
@erica – i’m only 5’3″!! did you see my platforms 🙂
i do think us shorties can pull off long dresses, but this one is too long to wear with flats. if i’m wearing a long dress with flats, i prefer it to hit right at my ankles. i think that works.
I believe in the platform. I am also digging your shoes! I actually prefer a longer hemline. I guess its my old age kicking in. LOL!
