Admonish leather tote bag
This is what I wore yesterday; a so-very-Grechen outfit.
And today, on my way to Pure Barre, I was in a very minor car accident. I’m fine, first of all. Really fine. Physically. Emotionally, I’m a little beat up. It happened so quickly; I felt the rush of adrenaline, and the shaking and then realized what happened. And of course, thought about how much worse it could have been. I could be hurt. My car is okay, needs a new bumper, but that’s easily dealt with. Obviously it could have been worse. The worst thing that happened is that I missed my Pure Barre Platform class. Which is pretty bad, honestly, I needed that today, but not the end of the world.
Anyway, before I left for class, I tried to order a pair of Elizabeth Suzann mules, the limestone in size 39, and they sold out literally from the time I added them to my cart and a couple minutes later when I went to check out. I was sort of bummed about missing them again, but also not too much. And now, not at all; nothing like an unexpected car accident to jolt you out of thinking about shoes.
Hope you’re having an un-eventful Wednesday 🙂
Did anyone manage to order a pair of the mules?
**oh, and another thing – I mentioned a while ago I’ve been removing everything from my bag when I’m finished for the day and then adding back in what I “need” when I go out next, in an effort to cut out the amount of stuff I bring with me all the time, and to try and bring smaller bags when I need less stuff. Well, when I go to Pure Barre I don’t bring a lot with me, so I didn’t pack a lot this morning, but man, I could have used a snack this morning!!
***and ANOTHER thing I forgot to mention about all of this, I had the accident near a Starbucks and pulled into an adjacent parking lot to deal with everything. After a while, a lady came over with two Frappucinos for myself and Leo saying that we needed them today. What a lovely act of kindness.
Oh no, Grechen, I’m so sorry! There’s been so much rain. I’m glad you are okay and it wasn’t serious. Be gentle with yourself and try to relax today. Hang in there!
Yikes! So sorry about the accident. I’m glad you’re okay and I’m sorry you missed your class.
Love your outfit. Have had my eye open for a linen shirt all summer but never pulled the trigger.
Did not try to order the ES mules today but I’m hoping to go to the studio next Friday (she opened her showroom on Fridays through September and this will be my first opportunity to go).
Yup, nothing like a perspective shift to change priorities.
Happy you are ok.
I overslept this morning and missed yoga 🙁 Looking to meditate and stretch in my office later to make up for it.
thank you laurie! this linen shirt is so good, it’s a little longer on me than I’d prefer, but i love it so much in every other way, that I overlook that!!
so jealous that you can go to the studio – i really wanted to get to nashville sometime this summer, but it hasn’t worked out. maybe fall? spring?
yes. so true.
so funny my first thought was that i’m going to miss class. i was really upset about that LOL
thanks catherine 🙂
we’ve not had too much rain here thankfully – i’m enjoying the cooler temperatures though, definitely!!
Oh do let me know if you come to Nashville! Fall is lovely here. So is spring. 🙂
of course !!
Gretchen– So glad you’re ok! I have the same shirt and shoes but not the skirt. Love them both. Hope you take a nice hot bath and relax. Beth
Very glad you are OK. NM the shoes, more shoes will always come down the pipe;). xox.
Oh no!! So glad y’all are alright, and even more glad that someone brought you Frappuccinos. Nothing heals the soul like sugar and coffee. Also, I dig that skirt so hard. I pinned it so that I can get it as my weight loss journey continues!!
So sorry to hear about your accident. I am always completely shaken up by such things, even when, thankfully, they are not serious. The renewed feeling of vulnerability, the sounds, the slow motions…it is all so overwhelming. Thinking of you.
thank you cathy 🙂
that skirt would be awesome for you!
YES.
thank you christina.
i’ve only actually been in one other accident before, also not serious, and had forgotten what it’s like…vulnerable is the perfect way to put it. it’s an amazing feeling, something just like that happening completely out of the blue.
thanks lisa – shoes. there are always more shoes….
thank you beth!! looking forward to soaking in epsom salts tonight!
Good idea!
Dear Grechen so glad you’re ok !!
Hugs, Gena
Thank you Gena
Glad you are OK! How scary! I did get the mules awhile back, when they re-stocked after the first sell out. I got the graphite, but have not worn them yet. Beautiful leather, they fit nicely on your foot, not loose. I was afraid the leather would be floppy or loose around my foot so I ordered a 39 instead of a 40 ( I am kinda in between the two sizes) the heel you can feel through the shoe if that makes sense, so not sure how much walking you would really want to do..but I have kinda fussy feet…They are gorgeous and soft tho…really love all of their brand and wish I could buy a ton 🙂
Glad to hear you are alright . Fender benders are pretty scary.
Dear Grechen,
just dropping in to see how you are feeling today- I hope you did take an epsom salt bath
doggie love helps
xoxogena
thanks gena! I took an epsom salts bath and i do think it helped a lot – no pain or anything, like nothing happened 🙂
back to my daily pure barre schedule!!
Grechen
Happy Friday Grechen,
That’s great news – I’ll tell you what my dad used to say, ‘Don’t be a big shot’, which means take it easy.
Best,
Gena
