I love this color!! I know, I don’t have a great track record with wearing color on my person, but I’ve worn this James Perse tee a few times since I got it on Monday and think I’ll continue to wear it quite frequently. I love it layered under my Zady alpaca sweater also, for just a peek of color (Zady is offering 25% off through this weekend with code GRECHEN!!).
This tee is my favorite crewneck because of the neckline and baseball hem; I have a white one also. Honestly, I prefer u or v-neck tees, but for layering, nothing beats a crewneck. And like I said, I love wearing this one under a gray sweater, it’s such a pretty combination.
I also got the Yosemite polar fleece pullover and the side stripe jogger pants from the James Perse sale. As is my habit, I wear everything new pretty quickly right out of the box, and I’ve worn the pants everyday since I got them (I’m wearing them now, as I write this) and the same with the pullover (I wear it to and from Pure Barre). The pants are a replacement for my 100% cotton sweatpants that stretch out so much they’re difficult to wear other than at home, and the new pants have pockets, which are essential for me. The joggers are rather warm, so great for this weather, and more of a slim cut than they appear.
I LOVE the pullover. But two things: the color is more of an olive/military green than grey or “granite” as the color states on the site, and it feels/looks rather thin out of the box, but it is crazy warm. I got my normal size 2 and wish I’d sized up so it’s more slouchy, but I’m also okay with it as is. I love that I can cinch up the neck so it’s more snug and warm and the front pockets are great. The sleeves are the perfect length for me in the size 2 also. GREAT pullover for throwing on with leggings, etc.
What have you ordered from the sale? anything? Please leave your feedback, comments, etc. below for fellow readers, and for me to keep in mind for future sales.
*a note on the bag: I got this when it was on sale during Black Friday/Cyber Monday at Garmentory with some referral credits and some cash. I was confused by the style, since there’s also a small dry bag that is more of a sling version – which is what I originally wanted. This is what arrived instead (it’s not the same bag as is in the photos at Garmentory – it is exactly this bag at Shopbop), and I was disappointed at first, but the more I tried it out at home, the more I thought I liked this version better. I’ll write more about it later, as I use it, but so far, so good…
I’m really fond of this color on you! And since our coloring is similar, I should like it on me! The fleece pullover reminds me a lot of one I bought for my eldest daughter for Christmas last year from Naketano so she could wear it to yoga.
I bought a pair of black cotton joggers from J Crew during their 40% off sale. I was able to get them in tall, which is great for me, but I haven’t tried them on or worn them yet, so they could conceivably stretch a lot. I ordered down based on comments. And I’m kicking myself for NOT buying a 525 America black cotton sweater with a crewneck at a local boutique when it was on-sale! Ugh! I hate when I convince myself that I shouldn’t get something…you know…”There will always be another”…and then it’s all I can think about!!!
Yay color!! This color looks so pretty on you, and I am so into your pants. You look amazing 🙂

I love love love love that color, both in general & on you specifically! I actually have a 2016 closet goal to add more wine/burgundy and green to my wardrobe (not to wear together). Both colors look great with black (my core wardrobe) and denim.
thank you!! i love burgundy and green also! specifically dark, forest green. i love love love my black crane dress in that color, it’s so much more interesting 🙂
you’re right – both colors look amazing with denim. i love the idea of a very dark green with lighter denim also – feels so fresh!
