This sweater is actually more “beige” than pink in real life (it’s the same color as this dress – OMG, remember this dress??), it just turns out more pink in photos.
I’ve tried to get rid of this sweater so many times the last several years, because I hadn’t worn it often enough. But thanks to the multiple friends who have forbid me to get rid of it, I still have it, and now perhaps, I’ll wear it more often. Honestly, I’m having a muted pastels moment…and this color/sweater fits right in.
I got the James Perse tank top the last day of the Shopbop code along with a white SoLow cami that was that was already marked down (I desperately needed another workout tank). I decided to go for the JP tank because I love the higher neckline, and you know I can’t resist a good linen top, even if it’s a blend, but especially if it’s James Perse.
The tank is wonderful, lightweight and cool, and long. But it does stretch a bit, FYI. If you’re between sizes, size down. I could have sized down if I wanted it to be snugger, but I’m okay with the size 2; it’s more forgiving around the middle for when I need it. I highly recommend this tank (also in white) if you’re a linen fan. Also it provides complete bra coverage – something I know is hard to find in a tank, and important to me.
A few coupon code notes in case you don’t look at Grechen’s Codes also…James Perse is on Hautelook today starting at 8AM pacific time. Pieces usually sell out VERY quickly when they pop-up on sample sale sites, so if you can, shop early. Also, if you want to be sure you’re getting “original” James Perse, look for made in the US, mostly, unless the item is heavier fleece or slinky jersey, those are generally always made in China.
The Dreslyn is offering 25% off with code DRESLYN25 during their friends & family sale – they have my Rachel Comey moon wedges (unfortunately not the lower version) along with other great dresses by Shaina Mote, an all black pair of Birkenstock Gizeh sandals, plus more.
And finally…Melissa Joy Manning is having a tax day sale – her site is 25% off with code TAXDAY15 TODAY only. I bought a pair of simple hug earrings ($75 after the code) last year during this sale and having taken them off since. I may not for many years to come…although I have two other pairs of her very “simple” earrings I’d like to rotate back in again someday! I cannot recommend her jewelry highly enough – and most of it is made of recycled metal, and always in the US.
Gretchen, I love this outfit! It’s something I would wear myself on the weekends, probably with flats (#brokenankleproblems).
thanks melissa!! i would wear it with flats too…and will definitely. i’m just trying to wear these RC wedges as much as possible lately…need to get my COST PER WEAR down low 😉
Whoa! Did I miss a post about your hair? Love the ombré look! Something about this outfit (must be the cardi) really makes your hair pop.
Darn you for ruining the illusion that you were wearing color, I got so excited when I thought you were rocking pink lol. But I’m glad you decided to not get rid of it because it’s a nice color. Although I love my bright colors, I’m having a muted pastel moment too and can’t get enough of blush and mint.
Thank you so much for posting about the MJM deal. I’ve been thinking about those hug earrings for awhile now because I want to something to just keep in my second hole. Finally took the plunge and ordered them, especially since you gave it a thumbs up.
You look super great in this outfit! Also, the hair is awesome. The length, the color, everything!

haha! no, it’s been like this for a while. i think it’s the sweater + lighting + i’m getting better at tweaking my photos in photoshop so they look “brighter” 🙂
i love it 🙂 i can always count on you to comment on my lack of color LOL – i actually went REAL LIFE shopping today and was continually drawn to navy. brighter navy, not so dark.
glad you got the earrings – you’ll love them! i spent a long time in the beginning making sure they were still in, but they’re pretty secure in my ear – they’re not going anywhere – took a while to get used to though, FYI.
thanks cathy!!
Melissa Joy Manning is one of my favorite jewelers – she’s local too, and I’ve always meant to get across the Bay to her studio and just haven’t managed it.
And I say, go pinky beige;).

Chiming in a couple days late to say that I LOVE this on you, Grechen! Maybe you can expand the definition of neutrals to include pink….
haha! i think pink(ish) is a neutral 🙂 i do love it.
Maybe we can call it “buff”?!? (Of course, Bobbi Brown has a lipgloss by that shade name!)
I think Cola and Cathy nailed it…The cardi goes so well with your hair, which is looking great. And I’m a huge fan of high neck tanks with sort of cut-in shoulders. If I loved my arms for something other than being able to pick up my granddaughter, I’d go bare in that tank. Looks like this might call for the white one, too, it’s that good.
*I still have that dress in navy…looks perfect thru multiple washes…because you and Sydney talked me into it! 😉
Knowing how much you love Frame denim, I ordered the Le Garcon style during the Saks F&F. They arrived yesterday. Oh my gosh! They are fabulous. Seriously, these are the most comfortable jeans I own. They are going to be on pretty constant replay in my wardrobe.
so glad you like them!!!
