Sunday’s outfit…
It warmed up A LOT here yesterday, I was even a little too warm in this sweater (layered over a t-shirt), but I was glad for the reprieve from the super-cold temperatures we’ve been having. I received the Everlane mockneck square cashmere sweater a while ago from Everlane to review, and have worn it just a few times. I like it a lot, and think it’s really well done, but on me, it’s not cropped enough – not like the cropped crew is on me. I’d try the small, but then I’m afraid the neck would be TOO tight; as it is it’s a little snug there.
I went to the Boho Market this weekend, not as a vendor this time, and met some wonderful ladies:
Symbology – I had no idea this company was based in the DFW area! I love the prints and the rather simple but interesting silhouettes of the dresses (each item is hand printed on rayon by artisans in India), and the pillows!!! I’m saving up to buy a few of those for my office sofa 🙂
Melt Goods – This Rozeh necklace was my favorite piece, but they’re all pretty cool, and each is made by a woman who has fled her home country and found refuge here in the US. What a beautiful way to show your support for refugees and the dignity that work brings; especially now…
Andie – linen!!! I loved her linen sleep sets AND she had some beautiful wrap skirts she would custom cut to your length for you at the show. I was so tempted…hopefully she’ll have those available online for spring/summer next year. And Andie herself is a professor at Baylor in the Department of Apparel Design. Walking the Walk!!
I’ll write more about these companies later, but I hope you’ll check out their work in the meantime. I was so inspired by them, and what they’re doing. And just to bring it back around to my outfit, I am CONSTANTLY inspired by Rachel Comey as well. Her designs are often ‘out there’ but always set the “cool girl” look for the season – AND they wear well on “normal” people too. At least I think so…
Happy Monday!!
Oh! Congratulations to Glora B. – the winner of the Everlane clutch!! (I chose the winner randomly via Random.org – hers was the 13th submission) I want to be thorough about tabulating the responses to come up with some sort of “results”, so it may be after the new year before I can get a follow-up post up. But thanks to all of you for playing!!
Love the pillows, the necklace and the linen sleep sets! And I do think those pants are so much better on you at your height than they would be as a “cropped” pair.
Congratulations to Gloria B! I’ll be anxious to see the results. And one of these days, I’ll actually follow through on something!
Wow! Awesome and thank you. So excited that I won. Now if that luck will transfer to getting Hamilton tickets..I am in virtual line with 14k people ahead of me…
haha! well, good things happen in threes, right ? good luck 🙂
It was fun meeting you at the Boho Market! You are so sweet to post about us!! Hopefully we will see you around at other events in the area!
