In my head I would dress like this all the time: black and white, white and black. Some structure, some drape, a little fitted, and also oversized. Contrast all over the f’ing place.
Unfortunately, or fortunately actually, I don’t live in my head. I will often put something like this on, love it, then think too much about it, ultimately not wearing it out of the house. Or I’ll change into sneakers. Haha. I’m always doing that. And I love the black & white, but sometimes it’s a little jarring. I’m thinking of navy lately.
But today I’m not giving myself time to think. I’m wearing this outfit right now, at home, in my office, and when I’m finished with this post, I’m going to pack up orders for Slowre, go to the post office and then…well…I don’t know. Does it matter?
And I would be remiss if I didn’t ask if anyone is excited about the mini launch at Elizabeth Suzann tomorrow??? I don’t think I saw anything that would derail my current plans for a pair of linen Florence pants next, but we’ll see. I’m definitely intrigued!
Happy Monday!!
I love this look. I’m inspired to try something similar tomorrow. I’m not too far off today with my Elise knit dress and ES mules.
Of course I’m excited by the ES launch however it might derail my buy nothing month. But I do have ES and Paypal credit… 🙂
In my head, I wear all black all the time, with splashes of grey or blush thrown in. Yesterday, I actually gave in and wore all black. It was MARVELOUS!! I must do it again.
I think the difference is you are working from home. I could see you wearing this outfit all day if you were heading to an office or other workplace.
I enjoyed ES’s email yesterday about her struggle with balance as a lead in to the mini collection launch. It was great insight to her personality and struggle for perfection. It was also a more heartfelt way in which to explain the switch to a mini vs. full collection. I can understand why her shoppers are so enamored with the line. (I’m on the email but haven’t purchased anything…yet).
I’m curious about the new ES pieces but don’t plan on buying anything. The photos are beautiful as always but the cuts of what I’ve seen so far are not necessarily flattering on me (I’d opt for a Clyde jacket or trench over the new coat, for example). I’ll just admire from afar this time!
Grechen, you look wonderful here!! I like Black and White on others, but it’s a little too stark for me. I am more comfortable with ivory, tan etc as a white substitute.
I am looking forward to tomorrow’s ES mini release, especially the new jacket as a linen Clyde trench in on my radar for spring.
This is a great outfit! I often feel the same way about black/white, but I feel like it helps if the white is a little creamier or the black is a little “washed,” which the Rebecca is.
I am intrigued by the revamped Andy Trousers (especially in silk), and the Parabola dress in linen, but am admiring both from afar for the foreseeable future!
Pure class!
