Ilana Kohn Milo jumpsuit | Large
Rag & Bone tee | medium
Birkenstock sandals
I’m going to make this quick, because I want to post everyday this week. I’m also working on getting some stuff up for slowre Thursday (I got this Sunja Link dress in on consignment!), AND Hawk usually wakes up around 4 from his nap, so I’m up against the wall here!!
I got this Milo jumpsuit when I got the IK Caroline pants I wore yesterday and I love them both so much. I have to really wiggle my hips/belly to get into the jumpsuit, but once it’s on it’s complete perfection. And I mentioned yesterday in a comment that I have to wear supportive shoes all the time now (plantar fasciitis), so I bought two pair with back straps so they would just stay on my feet through all the sitting on the floor, running around, etc., that I do now. This is a new style of Birkenstock (totally “vegan”) and they feel like I’m wearing clouds, literally. I can’t recommend these enough if you are in the market.
As you can see, I’ve had to completely rehaul my wardrobe since having Hawk, but luckily I can still manage to wear most of my tees/tops although they’re a little tight across the shoulders/arms since my arms aren’t as toned anymore. I’m still shocked that my body just took all the weight I gained during my pregnancy and redistributed it, then decided to hold on to it for dear life and add even more. I don’t know what I expected? I guess for it to just disappear like literally everyone says it will?? haha.
I believe that’s a function of my “advanced” age, but I almost want to go back and punch everyone in the face who said I’d have no problem losing the weight, etc., given how great a shape my body was in pre- and during pregnancy LOL. To be fair, not a lot of people have experience with women having babies over age 45 – I imagine if I’d had Hawk at 25 and was in as great a shape as I was at 46 I might have had an easier time of this postpartum phase. But maybe not. Who knows.
Anyway, I’m happy to have him. He is an adventure, that’s for sure!
Lovely to get your post! I’m looking forward to the week of posts and catching up on your world.
Also very curious about those Birkenstocks…..
Hi Grechen! So good to have posts from you! I was actually coming back to leave a comment on yesterday’s post, and here, I found another one! So happy!
You look great. Weight is the weirdest and pregnancy weight gain I don’t think is well understood at all by the medical establishment. Of course I imagine genetics plays a role. I keep thinking that I shouldn’t blame myself so much and shouldn’t hate my body–I just look like my grandmother, that’s all.
Hawk is the most adorable, as usual. Enjoy him!
Looking forward to daily outfit posts! Yay!
Lori´s last blog post ..Quieting
I’m wearing a jumpsuit today as well (ES Mara in linen)! Glad you’re posting again.
Hi Grechen! It is so great see you and your adorable Hawk the last couple of days. The denim overalls look so cute and comfy on you. Speaking of which, I remember about a year ago you had the cutest white overalls by Ganni that I became obsessed with, which were of course completely sold out everywhere. If you ever have a pair like them come through Slowre, I would LOVE to purchase them! Thanks and continue to stay safe and well! xoxox
oh my gosh…i LOVE THOSE OVERALLS!!! i am actually holding on to them out of desperation that i’ll fit into them again, but i’m not sure i ever will. i’ll be sure to let you know if i decide to sell mine, or if i have any come through. maybe they’ll make something similar again? i don’t know why they haven’t since them, they seemed to have been very popular.
Wow! This is a treat – 2 days in a row! And look at the way that cute boy looks at you. <3
I’ve been considering a jumpsuit, but I’ll probably just continue to dream about it since it’s highly unlikely that I’ll find one that fits (long torso) online. And that’s ok. Not everything is meant for everyone.
Aww, thanks for keeping me in mind! 🙂 You should definitely keep your pair, though – they are sooo good on you, and you’ll fit into them again – Hawk’s still really young.
xoxox
I love that jumpsuit.
Just want to add that I had terrible plantar fasciitis after my first pregnancy but it slowly got better and now it’s completely gone. Birkenstocks were a big part of that recovery.
