I feel sort of bad now starting to post everyday this week when next week I’ll be on vacation, and will definitely NOT be posting…. Sorry 😉
We’re meeting a few members of my family in Arkansas for a week at an airbnb. It’s the only way I could figure out how to see them without getting on a plane or driving two days. We’ve all been super-safe and conscientious, quarantining at home, so I feel like the risk is rather small for our two “groups” to get together. Anyway, I read earlier in the summer that meeting another family group at a “neutral” location for a short vacation was relatively safe, and I sort of hung on to that, so I’m going with it. I can’t say I’m not a little anxious, but I think we will be living with this for quite some time, vaccine or not, so figuring out how to moderate risk while having a happy & enjoyable life will be really important. Crucial, really.
Sigh.
Let’s talk about clothes, shall we?
You’ll notice a lot of Ilana Kohn lately, because that’s what fits, and what feels most like me right now. I also cannot wear anything but linen or lightweight cotton; I’m running a lot hotter than I used to! And the colors she’s using this season – the “dark” is such a great blue, and this bubblegum pink makes me giddy. Well, not giddy, because I don’t get giddy, but you know what I mean, you can see that I cracked a smile…so happy? Comfortable at least.
How are you doing? What are you wearing while staying at home?
I love your idea about two small groups at a neutral location! We have wondered how to see family & not fly.
Re: what I’m wearing -denim shorts, Birkenstocks & tank tops. I don’t think I’ve worn anything else since March.
Have a great vacation with your family! Always enjoy your posts !
So good to see you back! My summer uniform the past few years has been sack dresses and flat sandals (usually birks). More of the same this year. Enjoy your holiday – your plan seems reasonable.
I’ve been wearing cotton caftans from India for the last couple of months. Etsy has several good shops. I kind of miss dressing for work, but I’m so grateful to have a job and to be able to work from home.
That color! And the linen looks so easy and cool. It’s so much fun seeing you again. Lately I’ve been living in easy tank bras with t-shirts and loose shorts or cuff-rolled jeans and flip-flops or Birks on my feet. I can’t stand wearing anything fitted when it’s hot. I also love loose dresses, but need to wear shorts or spanx under them otherwise I chafe a little, which drives me nuts, lol.
Have a lovely vacation! My sister-in-law is an epidemiologist and says small, masked, socially distant get-togethers outside should be just fine.
Megababe thigh rescue FTW!!! I was going to mention that in my post but didn’t have time. I use it now instead of spanx and love it. Will write more about it – review – on another post.
I’ve tried Ilana Kohn a few times but haven’t found anything that has stayed in my wardrobe 🙁
Most recently, I bought and returned the Mabel jacket in bubble and the Leroy jumpsuit in dark. I loved the bubble color but I was not crazy about the design of the jacket. I liked the fit of the leroy jumpsuit a lot but navy blue felt a bit drab and boring. I wish she had more stockists in Europe.
I recently bought two pairs of Raquel Allegra Easy Pants on sale . One in sky and another in pink sunrise. They are so comfy and flattering and the perfect stay at home pants.
Bike shorts, loose tees and oversize buttondowns!
I.LOVE.that.dress! The bright pink is just so cheery and mood-altering. Good enough reason to get it, alone!
