Ichi Antiquities cotton/linen dress | I got it a few months ago at at land, it’s sold out though 🙁
Birkenstock Sandals
This dress is a bit too warm generally for our weather right now, but I don’t want to wear ANY OF MY CLOTHES ANYMORE so I pulled this one out to wear. I haven’t worn it since I got it because it’s been too hot for it, but man, I love this dress. I’m a huge Ichi Antiquities fan, but it’s hard to buy since things sell out quickly, and there aren’t many stockists. There are many more than there used to be (back when I first discovered/posted about it there were less than a handful), but I’ve found that you really can’t hesitate on buying an Ichi piece – they go fast! So this dress was my second choice when I bought it because my first sold out and now I can’t even remember what my first choice was I love this one so much.
Today was Hawk’s 1 year doctor’s appointment and it went well. We were in and out in an hour, which is good for our doctor haha. She did talk too much about herself, as usual, but it wasn’t as bad as it could have been, although she did say one good thing about his walking is that we’ll lose weight chasing after him (MAJOR EYE ROLL and annoying glance haha). Hawk wasn’t a fan of the poking and prodding but he recovered quickly and slept forever when we got home.
I hate to even say anything, but I don’t know how I got so lucky. Hawk is what I would call “agreeable” and really very easy most of the time. Transitions for him so far have been a breeze. He had a few bad hours transitioning from our room to his own room, no problem at all going from the snoo to a regular crib (I know this is a problem for a lot of babies though…), and didn’t even think twice about not getting a bottle anymore. And here I was getting anxious for no reason 😉
Oh, and his iron levels are great, so I guess what I’ve been doing has worked. I do think I’m going to take a nutrition course for vegan children though, I follow someone on Instagram who offers it, just to be safe, and because I’m interested (I’m a nutrition nerd).
In other news, my hair is interesting. A lot of the new growth is grey, though, so that’s good. At this point it just looks like I had a VERY bad dye job, but I’m just going with it. I’m going to keep letting it grow for a few more months I think and then go in and get all the blonde cut off. I do miss my short, blonde hair, but not enough to go to the salon or spend the money, to be honest. It’s funny, the very last thing I did before deciding to quarantine in early March was get my haircut, thank goodness.
What’s your hair situation? Have you had it cut or colored lately? Are you planning to? or holding out?
Happy Wednesday!!
Congratulations on the doctor appointment/transition stuff! Take all the victories you can!
I’ve been cutting both my husband’s and my son’s hair since April. In July I finally watched a few YouTube videos and cut my own hair as well! It’s fairly curly so pretty forgiving of my self-cut. I don’t color my hair but my son wanted to dye his hair red before (online) school started. So we did that! So I guess I’m running a private salon out of my house now…
I haven’t had a cut since Feb and I stopped dyeing too. I had been using semi-permanent the past couple years, so no terrible roots. But lots more gray 😉 I had to go to the dentist today so I dried my hair for the first time in….2 months? I did wear a bra (travel – no underwires! Seriously might not ever go back….) No jewelry, no makeup.
I love that dress!
Yup no cut and no color for 6 months… Letting it just go! I do trim my bangs but that’s about it… I may never get it colored again…We will see!
LOVE that dress. Love this one too

Cute dress! Adorable healthy baby! I’m so happy for you.
Hair…I had a cut at a salon that wasn’t my usual place out of desperation. My hair tends to get very big and out of control when it isn’t tamed. That was a mistake. So, my regular stylist was willing to come to my house this week and she cut and colored it and I feel SO much better. I’m ME again!
I think that’s a great dress, and I’m glad that you love it. Your nail color is fabulous as as well. I took my girls to their new-to-us pediatrician yesterday (their previous physician retired soon after C-19 hit). The 9-year-old was relieved she did not need vaccines. The 4-year-old took them without any tears or distress. The pediatrician did not like that my younger child is currently in the 75th percentile for weight, compared to being in the 69th last year. I’m trying not to get too concerned about his comments.
