This is not technically my outfit today (I was wearing my T by Alexander Wang dress), but as soon as I got home from shopping with Sydney, I tried this skirt and didn’t take it off. I intended it for our next hunt.gather.style shop, but I think I’ll keep it for myself! It’s a bit long on me, but I probably won’t get it hemmed, and honestly, I don’t think it’s that bad. And yes, I know it would look better with heels, but realistically, I’m not wearing heels much lately. At all, really.
And my hair is a DISASTER. My grays are showing, and it’s grown out too much to be a “hair style” – now it’s just a mess. I’m going for a cut on Tuesday, and I’m definitely going to keep it short – actually, I’d really like to go for SUPER-short, a pixie cut would be ideal. But I’m not sure my hair will “do” pixie very well; it’s too straight, although I think I have the right face-shape for a pixie. I’d take Gennifer Goodwin’s style, or Michelle Williams’, but if I can’t do a pixie, I’ll take the Rebecca Minkoff model’s style (the longer bangs):
Anyway, although I’ve never had a pixie cut, I have had SHORT hair before, REALLY short, and I loved it, but I don’t want it that short now, and I definitely don’t want it to stick up LOL – or have to use a bottle of gel and can of hairspray:
These are actual photographs I found of me with short hair in various stages of my life:
top left – around 2002 or so? I actually had a perm at this time.
bottom left – I was in 7th grade. don’t judge
top right – this was 1995 or 1996 I think? Yes, I was blond. and I LOVED it. My hair was SO short, but I really liked it. I don’t want it to look like this again, which is what I’m afraid of if I do go for the pixie cut.
bottom right – 1986. can’t you tell??
What do you think? Should I go for the pixie cut? Or the longer bangs? I do generally like the style I have now, except it needs to be much shorter in the back. The progression of my current cut was towards the Rebecca Minkoff model’s style, but honestly, that’s a lot of styling for me (I don’t like to style my hair), and I think the pixie would be easier.
Have a great weekend!!!
Love that skirt on you. Go for short. It’s just hai. It’ll grow back.
Hair, not hai. I don’t know what that is. 🙂
I say totally go for the pixie cut. I absolutely adore Ginnifer’s haircut and would love to do something like that to my own but I don’t see a hair stylist often enough to have it always l looking good. Spiky hair would be fun! 🙂
I’m thinking the Ginnifer Goodwin cut would be great on you! Your hair will always be healthy when it’s short, and you might be able to do the color yourself, if you want! I think your face shape is perfect for either style of cut: pixie or R.M. long bangs/short in back. Go for it and have fun with it!! (but not as much fun as in ’95/’96, OK? 😉
I vote for the longer bang!
And I actually like the skirt w/sandal. (Can’t believe it but I’m not into heels lately either!)
