Wow. I have been through so much with my hair this year…I should have stopped here, but once I cut it, I seemed to want to go shorter and shorter and shorter…so I ended up where I am today. With a mop on my head. I did like my short cut for a little while, but it’s too high maintenance for me both in terms of getting it cut VERY frequently and having to wear makeup more often so I feel more like a girl. I’ve been trying to grow it out for a while, and I’ve decided that I’d like to get it back to a short bob, with bangs, like in this outfit picture. I looked back through years of pictures, and I really think that is my favorite cut; the bangs emphasize my eyes, and the angled bob makes my neck look longer and leaner. Honestly, I’ve really been miserable with my hair for a long time, and I decided that I didn’t want to go into my 40th birthday not being happy with it, so I’m getting it cut tomorrow. Then colored, because OMG the grays are killing me!!!
It’s still not going to look “perfect” because the back will need to grow out a lot, but at least it will be going in the right direction. Somebody please tell me to STOP messing with my hair after I get it to where I like it…I’m too old to keep experimenting 😉 No, that’s not true, I have always loved playing with my hair, but this time was different – maybe I’m more anxious about my birthday than I think?? That, and the cut just wasn’t “me.” It makes me feel sort of anxious and slightly uncomfortable with my overall style – so time to move on to something new!!
How many times have you tried a completely different hair style or color? How did it turn out?
IDK, instead of looking at it as a mistake, I think you could see it as just wanting to experiment with your hair, have fun, and try something new. You know, it was VERY flattering on you in a pixie cut and not all women can say that! (me being one of them!) But I think if you’re looking for a new do, I’d go for the angled bob with bangs. It was GORGEOUS on you! Probably my fave overall. I play with the length of my hair all the time, and I’m 52. I know what looks good on me at this age, but it’s fun to change up the color or the length/layers a little bit once in awhile so I don’t get stale. Look at it this way: No one can accuse us of being stuck in our ways! 😉
i don’t think it was a mistake – i’m glad i did it, but i’ve never not liked my hair so much than i have now. usually, i just shrug it off and say “it’ll grow,” and don’t worry about it, but this time i just couldn’t let it go…
i think for a while, once i get back to a great cut, i’ll just play with my color 😉
I think the short do that you have now looks the best! You look chic and modern! It really brings out your cheekbones – very, very pretty!
