Bodega Thirteen Drew pants
Windram Design linen tunic
Robert Clergerie Frazzia shoes
Opelle Leather clutch
I am knee deep in SLOWRE lately (so much, I can’t even spell “slower” the right way LOL) after receiving my largest consignment shipment EVER!! I’ve put lots of items up already and still have many more to go. Please check out the new arrivals if you’re interested, and I’d love your feedback on the new site design. I hope it’s easier to navigate; you can shop by category, size or designer, and you can expand images by clicking on them. I’ve also decided to accept returns on SOME items for store credit.
Anyway, enough of the boring stuff, have a look at this 100% new-to-SLOWRE items from consignors (except the shoes, those are mine) outfit. As you probably have guessed, I try on a lot of the pieces I get in, and have occasionally been tempted to buy a piece or two myself (I just got in a cropped James Perse military jacket I pined over years ago); I’m constantly amazed by the pieces you guys send in!
More details on this outfit:
The tunic is Lithuanian linen, made in the UK, and so soft and comfortable. It was only worn once, so it’ll become even softer with more wear/wash. It’s one size, but would fit a size medium/large best IMO.
The pants are by Bodega Thirteen, made in Canada, and have never been worn. They’re an easy poly-chiffon blend, cropped, and great for the weather now, with pockets and a comfortable elastic waist.
The shoes were mine, and I so wish I could keep them…they’re so stunning, BUT they’re a 1/2 size too small for me. Made in France.
The bag is the softest leather, and is wonderfully textured. It’s nicely broken in, but with no signs of wear at all – handmade in Canada.
A truly international outfit! Nothing made in the US 🙂
Happy Wednesday – again, thank you so much for all your support of SLOWRE, and your feedback, I always appreciate it.
*edited* uh..it’s not Wednesday. I love being so busy I forget what day of the week it is!!
I love the design changes you’ve made on slowre! Very much appreciated!
I am so tempted by those shoes but I fear they might be a little too big for me. Either my feet have shrunk or the consistency of shoe sizing is approaching Eileen Fisher standards.
haha!! eileen fisher standards 🙂
i don’t expect consistency in sizing anymore – shoes included. i am mostly size 38, but can vary a half size here and there. robert clergerie usually fits me fine in a 38.5, but these are just too small. i wore them anyway, for a while, but just can’t anymore. which is sad …
My Birks are 38, my Peter Nappi shoes are 37 and my Sevilla Smith’s are 39 (but I think I should have gotten the 38 in those). And my Converse are a women’s 7.5 and I have an insert in them. Sigh…
which sevilla smith shoes do you have? the ones up at slowre are a size 38 and i think they’re a bit too small on me, but they’re booties. AND they’ve already been worn, so they’re a bit stretched. i would love a pair of the new mules at elizabeth suzann – i should have just ordered them as soon as they popped up…i think i’d need a size 39, which is in line with my “european”/robert clergerie/no6 size generally.
ugh.

Interested? 🙂
Actually, I think mine are the pebble leather:

oh man. those are beautiful!! i will definitely take them for slowre…not sure about myself though LOL – i always make the mistake of thinking i’ll wear shoes like that (with cutouts) in fall/winter and i don’t.
even better 😉 that’s the same leather as the pair at slowre, it’s so nice…
One thing about shoe sizes I have had to remember is that a French 39 equals a European (or Italian) 38.
BUT if you buy them online it doesn’t always specify which system they are using (or they just get it wrong).
Yes!! They’ve started using all us sizes it seems which is even more confusing.
It sounds like your Frazzia sandals might be a French size 38.5 (and actually a US 7.5)
The tendency to convert to US sizes makes it so confusing, since they are not exactly equivalent. I am usually a US 7.5 but a 37 in Birks and a 5 in UK sizing. Those sizes usually get described as a US 7 if they are converting and a US 7 is too small for me!
And that’s not even mentioning how sizing can be different with different styles of shoe, depending on the shape of your foot.
Laurie, if those Sevilla Smith shoes were a 36, I would gladly buy them from you. I’ve generally always been a 36, but I’m in the process of weird sizing issues with Nisolo’s oxfords. The 36 was tiny, and while the 37 is better, I’m still having a heck of a time breaking them in.
The updates to the SLOWRE site are truly wonderful! As someone who is a timid online shopper (inner monologue: what if it doesn’t fit properly! what if it’s not soft! what if it looks different in person! what if, what if, what if…) — particularly when items can’t be easily returned — I really appreciate the improved pictures of the items. The mannequin is also a big help. I prefer the white photo background over the pink one, though, because I think it makes it easier to get a good feel for the piece. Another thing I’m always concerned about when online shopping is the item’s color, so I appreciate when, if the coloring isn’t totally accurate in the picture, you describe it in the information blurb 🙂 I love what you’re doing with SLOWRE in general and I am totally hoping some more Elizabeth Suzann ends up on there! I am obsessed, thanks to all your posts about her clothes.
