It’s not unbearably hot today, and the sun’s not out, so I feel safe wearing jeans and a lightweight jacket. And clogs. While I long for fall and cooler weather, I am not that person who will start wearing tights & booties just because it’s September. I know you know that person (or fashion blogger), but I can’t do it.
I wrote a post a while ago about how much my fashion choices are dictated by the weather and that is still very true. In Texas you will see girls wearing short dresses & cowboy boots when it’s 100+ outside and I suffer for them! I know, it’s a “look” and maybe they’re not as hot as they look, but it just doesn’t seem “right” to me. But I have never been one to just wear whatever I want, regardless of the weather or what I’m doing that day – I am so (perhaps overly) cognizant of how much I need to run around, who I’m going to be around, if it’s going to rain, and how much I need to carry when I get dressed, that practical-ness always wins out.
That’s me…the practical one π
Although sometimes it would be nice to be the fun one…
Have a good weekend!!!
My fashion choices are totally dictated by the weather! How could they not be? I’d look like a fool walking through snow or rain in peep-toe platform pumps. (and I’d be one, too) Plus, I’m at the age where I’m just warmer all the time, so I dress in layers so I can remove a layer if I have to. It makes sense. And I am sensible, if nothing else. (hubby would SO disagree with me on that!)
Oh, and I wouldn’t want to get a whiff of those girls’ cowboy boots!!! π
haha! yeah, i’m not sure how “practical” and “sensible” my husband thinks i am either. in my sartorial choices though, i feel like i am sometimes TOO practical.
We love what we love…
