When I first put this outfit on, I had my big Dannijo necklace on with it (seen here). My husband asked me if Flavor Flav was having a slumber party and I was invited. Funny guy. He thought I looked like an OG rapper in pajamas, and I thought it was WAYYY too high-school-art-teacher, in a bad way, so I removed it. There’s a fine line…
Anyway, here are some images of the Everlane long sleeve linen tee on me. I got a medium, same size as the short sleeve linen tee from Everlane I reviewed last week. I’ve had the long sleeve version longer, and have already washed it and worn it many times. It washed well (I didn’t dry it), but did create A LOT of lint, or fuzz, or whatever, which I discovered after I found gray “stuff” all over my pants. I shook it out really well, and that seemed to remove most of it, but FYI.
I think the long sleeve version is slightly longer than the short sleeve version, and it does have a wider neck. The sleeves are long on me, but not TOO long, and are nice down, actually, but only until you push them up once. From then on, they’ll flop down around your hands and get in the way if they’re not pushed up. I like to wear them folded and pushed up to my elbow mostly, so that doesn’t bother me, but just be aware that you’ll never really be able to wear the sleeves long unless you ALWAYS wear them long. If that makes sense. That’s to be expected though, with linen or cotton sleeves.
Again, I don’t think it’s too sheer, I’m wearing my favorite “nude” t-shirt bra by Natori AGAIN (I need to get another one of these, actually – what a difference a t-shirt bra makes!!). Of course, there wasn’t much sun yesterday, and it’s hard to see, but I am perfectly comfortable wearing both the Everlane linen tees with just a bra underneath.
I love the top; it’s a great lightweight layer for summer, with nice drape. Maybe I would have been okay with a size small, for a sharper look, but this one gives a nice drapey, oversized look, and rounds out my (hopefully) more modern, artsy-chic look with harem pants. I have my moments, okay?
Anyone else have their own review of Everlane’s linen to add? What did you think?
I think your ability to discern the “fine line” is what makes your style so sophisticated, and so you.
thanks lisa 🙂
tell that to my husband LOL
Sorry I’m so late to the party, but I’ve been “galavanting about,” as my grandma would’ve said. I love everything about this, and I think Leo’s …oops!…your instincts were right about going with the smaller necklace. Love it!
I was thinking about purchasing the linen long sleeve. Just curious, did it continue to produce a lot of lint or did that just occur the first few washes?
No. It didn’t. It washes and wears very well, although definitely stretches with wear. It also might have shrunk a teeny bit in length. But it’s only just barely noticeAble
Good to know about the stretching! Thanks!
