Entireworld recycled cotton tee (gift from Entireworld)
yes, I pretty much wear this tee everyday. I ordered a smaller size this morning
Elizabeth Suzann Andy Trousers (secondhand) | medium, regular
Birkenstock Arizona sandals
Marsell Dritta 4 bag
I bought these Andy trousers last week from one of the ladies at the ES meetup I hosted a couple weekends ago. I think they’re really cool, but I’m not sure I LOVE them love them. I’m giving them a chance though, because I think they’re like the clyde pants; you really have to get used to the silhouette and then they’re all you want to wear.
These are definitely a “trouser” and something I would envision Katherine Hepburn wearing with some brogues, and a loose blazer. Or Diane Keaton.
On me, they are tricky to style though. I tried them on with pretty much everything I could think of to wear them with, and they really look best with a slim, fitted top, tucked in tight; the proportions just work better.
I did also receive the black silk crepe andy trousers I ordered with my gift card from Elizabeth Suzann and I REALLY LOVE those. I think the Andy Trouser just works better in silk. That said, I did have them hemmed about an inch, which is perfect. But my tailor asked me if she should taper them in a bit and I said no, but now I’m wondering if I should do that. I’ll show those to you later this week, but I do think they would look interesting tapered in a bit more at the hem.
All in all I really like this new Andy silhouette. It’s a refreshing change from the florence, which is very wide. I also like that the Andy isn’t just a straight pant – that would be boring. The medium is the right size for me, regular the right length sort of…in the silk it was too long, in the cotton canvas it’s just right.
Does anyone else have the andy trouser in any fabrication? what do you think of it?
My Everlane cotton pants in black fit in a similar way on me, and I roll up the legs a couple of times to go with the slouchy vibe for late summer/early fall. I think the fabric really lends itself to that look and they look really nice and comfortable on you.
I recently bought a very lightly used pair of linen Andys from selltradeES. I’m also in the not-quite-sure camp on them. Currently trying to swap them for some black linen Clydes, although I’m not sure what size I’d wear in those. I’ve tried on a 10 at an ES meetup, which were definitely too big. I think I’d either be a 4 or 6, but I know Clydes can be tricky to get the right fit. I’m 5’8″ and reasonably thin with long legs for my height. I feel like the regular Andys hit too short on me, but I think a tall pair would probably be too long. They’re also quite baggy and most of my tops are kind of oversized, so it may just not be the right silhouette for my wardrobe. (It would probably look great with a Petra top.) I really wish I could try on a pair in tall to see if that works better, because I love the way these look on other people. Maybe silk would be the way to go….
the girl i bought these from was going to trade them for a tall, and she’s just a bit taller than me but with a longer torso, so the tall usually fits her better there. you’d probably have to get them hemmed, but that’s better than having them be too short in the rise…
i loved my cotton twill clydes and my culottes, but yeah, they are SO hard to fit. i would be a size 6 in the culottes in cotton canvas, but the size 6 regular clydes don’t fit my calves. oh, but i’d take a size 4 in the linen clyde pants… 🙂
if you tend to prefer oversized tops, then i think the regular clyde pants would be best for you, they are quite slim when you get the sizing right, and look great with wider tops. i can’t make wide tops work with the andy trousers, or the florence pants.
Trial and error….so much of that goes into finding the right ES piece and size!! but so far it’s been worth all the trials and errors for me …hope it will be for you eventually 🙂
I love those on you! You’re making me eye them for myself.
I have the Andy’s in linen and silk. I love them both! I wear the linen around everywhere all the time and the silk to work. The linens are older, so the pleats don’t go to the waistband, not my preference but definitely not a deal breaker. I went with my standard size small, and did regular length (I’m 5’2” but have a longer inseam and these are solidly ankle length on me). I also have the old ES crescent pant- those fill my voluminous pant category – I prefer the exaggerated silhouette in the stiffer fabric, it feels more intentional to me. The trouser cut of both pants are just perfect! I reach for them way more than I did my Clydes or Flos.
Such a simple and stylish look!

I have the Andy’s in black linen in L Tall so I can wear them comfortably longer into the fall. I them in flax linen in L Regular (wanted a more warm weather silhouette) and they have been a favorite for me all summer for work. I have a pair in black canvas on order in L Tall. Will order for next spring in black silk. Absolutely love these pants!!
I ordered and returned the Crescent pants in black canvas before they went off production. They were simply HUGE on me!!
I don’t tuck tops into any pants as I do NOT want to emphasize my waist LOL. I just had to develop a comfort zone in wearing styles that are “Not Conventionally Flattering”. I have been supremely comfortable all summer!!
I have the Clyde Work Pants and Clyde Culottes in all fabrics in the same size. Mine are probably on the looser side as opposed to having to shimmy over hips etc. I love the fit in all…
Ok–I finally ordered a pair of these in black silk! I’ve been coveting them for a while, and love the way the silk ones drape. Let’s see if I can stop myself from canceling the order, which is what I’ve ended up doing for every other ES non-knit order I’ve made to date!
I have a pair of the silk Andys in rust. I really like them. They’re super comfortable and wear them with long and shorter tops. A linen Linn tee with my Andys are my favorite look. I have silk Flos, too, but really prefer the Andy.
I really like these on you and I like that length. I do think a longer length would probably make me like these more on me. Mine hit several inches above my ankle.
The funny thing about the volume of these pants is that I have a pair of Brynn Walker Oliver pants which are like more extreme ES Crescent pants. Tons of volume and I love those. I think they work fine with my oversized but cropped tops. They make me feel like I’m on vacation and they’re so great for wearing on planes. I feel very artsy and stylish in them.
